Nokia 5800 XpressMusic comes to the UK on January 23
Half of the would-be buyers are probably holding out for the N97 at this point, but for what it's worth, the first S60 5th Edition device is ready to rock in the UK this month. Starting January 23, 5800 XpressMusics will be shipping for £249 (about $377) -- while Moscow residents are already totally over with it and onto the next great thing, by the way, and North Americans can keep right on lusting for a few more months. Love that launch stagger.

ya, i wanted this but am now waiting for a n97. seems like they really cannibalized their own sales on this one. what i *really* want is a nokia s60.5 touchscreen with a slide out numeric keypad. but who knows how long it will be before that ever happens. if it even does.

It's the 30th for carriers like vodafone just for a heads up.

Yep! Time to throw away my trusty old 6600... :)

Can't agree with that. The N97 will literally be double the price of the 5800 and they aren't really gunning for the same groups of people. If consumers wanted a high-end device before the N97's announcement, I'm sure they weren't looking at the 5800...

I got one from the nokia flagship store in NYC for 350+tax. The phone is no iphone killer in terms of web browsing, but when it comes to video capture and gps, this phone kicks iphone's ass any day. The accessories included are really awesome.

The 5800's have been available at the Nokia flagships stores for quite a while now, both in Chicago and NYC. I bought one not so long ago for around $380, that's the phone price and tax. I even got a free battery for my N95 8GB, an exchange really. The 5800 is a pretty decent phone, the only downside is that it doesnt really feel like a $350+ phone. It's light and small, I guess that's a plus, but it creaks if you hold it in your hands with any pressure. I just hope the N97 has better build and finish.
