T-Mobile Dash now available in black, ninjas swoon
Alright, you've got to really love Dashes and really love the color black to make this investment, because it's now confirmed: the black Dash for T-Mobile is the same thing as the original, just with a little less raw aluminum involved. No 3G, no awesome camera, and at this point, we can't even tell if they've bumped it to WinMo 6.1 as rumored (though we'd certainly hope they did). It's available now for a penny shy of a Benjamin on contract after rebates.
[Thanks, aussiedog]
Update: Commenter NocNocNoc tells us that it's still running 6.0, which makes this model just that much more anticlimactic. Bummer.

The black version still won't make me want to buy it.

I'm sure the dash is a nice phone... but it's aesthetics were never for me

by not releasing a real smartphone in 2 years, i guess T-Mobile is really betting the farm on the iPhone nano.

I've been reading this stuff all week, and I just had to comment...
We've had these in at our store for a week. It is *NOT* running WinMo 6.1; it's the same ole' 6.0 that's been on the Dash for well over a year now. The processor is the same. The internal memory is the same. The only real difference is that it's black (and the area where it was formerly silver is now rubberized, much like the rest), and the speaker-grill has been re-designed.
The only other difference, if you want to call it that, is that it comes preloaded with the latest software fixes available (the alarm bug, for example).
But seriously...if you have one on your wish-list, don't buy it if you really think it's got 6.1 on it. It doesn't. Really.

Tmobile is living in some alternate universe. This is the same company that's selling the Wing as their top WM device for $299 and a 2-year contract. The Touch and Touch Pro will probably be available as their top device sometime in 2011.
