RemoteDroid app turns your G1 into a wireless keyboard and mouse

It's already been done on the iPhone, and it looks like G1 users can now use their handset of choice to control their computer as well. Given the G1's preponderance of input options, this new so-called RemoteDroid app is also quite a bit more capable, with it letting you take advantage of the G1's keypad, and use either the trackball or the touchscreen as a mouse (with a pair of onscreen mouse buttons provided for good measure). Head on past the break for a demo video, and hit up the link below to grab the app for yourself.

Wow! So instead of the convenience of using my keyboard to type into my computer, I can use the inconvenience of a way too small pda keyboard instead! Gotta appreciate the effort that was put into technology that impedes progress...

well it is wireless, which is a plus. that is assuming you dont already have a wireless keyboard and mouse. could be handy in a media center set up.

In certain settings, there could be a use for this. So you, sir, are a huge tool. No one is hoping this will replace a keyboard...

T Hom,
See the ;-) that denotes humour and sarcasm? I'm afraid you're the huge tool; I just have one.

Stop being so sarcastic! This app is not a step backward is say maybe you have an HDTV with PC input whether that be VGA or DVI connection you might want to surf the web from the comfort of your couch and not always have to sit at a desk upright... I myself am on the market for a wireless handheld keyboard I can se to do this so I can stream videos online or watch netflix.

I cannot work the RemoteDroid. It will not do anything on my PC, not even move the mouse,,. On my phone only the right side of the mouse will blink when touched,, no other areas on the form work,, I followed the instructions to the T, and uninstalled and installed the app several times,, Can anyone advise what my issue may be... I am operating off Windows Vista..
