LG's Prada II on sale in Europe for ?600
You've had ample time to look LG's Prada II over, and by now, you know good and well whether or not you're dreaming of one under your tree. If you just so happen to be parked in Europe (or you don't mind the rather atrocious exchange rate for a possible import), you or your Secret Santa can snatch one of these handsets up for around €600 ($832) -- and no, that's not including the watch. Remind us again how much of that sticker is dedicated solely to five little letters?

Saw one of these on display with my local high street retailer recently. The printed ink on the keys of QWERTY keypad had started to wear off, and there were scratches on the keyboard arising presumably from the sliding mechanism. I hope this is something that LG can easily address.

1 the iphone 2g is a copy hardware wise of the prada 1 which was announced and released first. So to call this phone the iphone killer is not correct the iphone line was made after this phones line. 2 that is the unsubsidized price, when u sign a 2 yr contract the carrier pays for part of your phone. and when you sign an iphone contract apple makes at&t rape you worse than normal so they can take more off the phone to make it appear u got a deal.. lol dont fall for tha game...

BTW this phone has Pinch. Prada was also the first capacitive touchscreen phone - months before iPhone even though the software was not even close to iPhone.

Who cares which came first? And I think when having a product argument, its important to remember it's not just hardware that makes great devices really great - right? I would imagine the iPhone is still a much better product, and definitely more worth the coin - which in this case seems to be alot less coin.
In terms of the rape - I come from an international scene. Apple doesn't make anyone rape anyone, at least internationally. In Singapore where I lived, the iPhone plan is very worth while, many other countries as well. In New Zealand, it is indeed costly to use 3g on the iPhone, however its expensive regardless of which phone you own, or which company is making the service provider "rape" you. Is it also expensive to use other 3g phones in the US? Or can you only use the iPhone on an iPhone plan or something?

It doesn't cost €600 - I bought one as a Christmas gift for a client just two days ago for €519 (incl. 19% VAT) from a perfectly reputable retailer (cyberport.de). And yes, it already arrived.
