Sony Ericsson's US X1 back in business this week, hopefully
If you've had trouble finding the Sony Ericsson X1 on American shelves since its supposed release on Black Friday, you're not alone. It seems that stock was pulled shortly after release and sent back to headquarters, possibly for an ultra-last-minute firmware update designed to fix an undisclosed bug of some sort -- but the good news is that phones should start to filter back into their natural habitats this week. Look at it this way: at least you got to hang onto your 800 frickin' dollars for a few days longer, right?[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

I agree about hold back the $800. Now, I guess, it shouldn't be hard to wait longer as I got used to it now. Hopefully, can find it soon for much less as all heat to own it first day is gone.

I will being keeping my 800 bones until a carrier picks this up, and then hopefully with a big subsidy. Oh why is such a nice phone so expensive, cruel cruel world.
Soulsaber @ Dec 8th 2008 4:21PM
I would rather wait for the N97 which is at least $100 cheaper when it launches.

Nokia's list & the real price (due to buyer interest) is always way off. Take the 5800. List is somewhere near $350 but actual selling price is just south of $600 right now. Plus the X1'll be around $500 I imagine in 7 months, when the N97's scheduled to be released.
My opinion is that this phone is too high priced for what it is *now*, regardless of an N97 or any other competitor coming down the pipe.

Xperias were RECALLED because the cases tended to crack or have cracks in them.
Don't bother holding your breath for them because they won't be in stock anywhere (Best Buy, SonyStyle), until January, 2009 even though all reports were they were supposed to be in by TODAY.
Talk about blowing the launch twice. Just get a Fuze and be done with it.
PH0ENIX @ Dec 8th 2008 5:38PM
Way to blow a launch, Sony. Not that anyone cared.

Hopefully when it does get released it will come out with a more realistic price point
