Doro brings immensely simplistic phones to the US via Centennial Wireless
Now that the baby boomer generation is booming louder than ever and the geriatric set is quickly growing larger, Doro is hoping to grow its market share by coming to the States. A mainstay in the European market, the company focuses on producing overly simplistic mobiles that ditch cutting edge features in favor of easy-to-use interfaces. The GSM-compatible HandleEasy 330gsm and HandleEasy 326i gsm have arrived on US soil courtesy of Centennial Wireless, and both should be the easiest phone you've ever had the opportunity to use. Unfortunately, there's no mention of a price for either, but we can't imagine 'em being too pricey.

"Nummer"? "GIH"? WTF?
Austin @ Nov 22nd 2008 12:32PM
@ squiggleslash
Isn't it obvious that "nummer" is not in English?
Kevin @ Nov 22nd 2008 8:44PM
@ squiggleslash
apparently nummer is german for number.
@ Austin
no, it is not obvious. when the letters on the 4 key are not labeled GHI, the possibility that this phone has other spelling errors is high.

I guess this phone is for old people who like to harken back to the days when there were only 6 digits to a phone number?

Maybe this could be an alternate option to the toilet-seat-looking Jitterbugs...

You are wrong about them being cheap.
Here in scandinavia (their home turf) these phones, that only have huge numbers and very loud sound + 3 or four buttons dedicated to fast dial numbers (your nurse, your geriatry specialist, and your own home for when you get lost) are ridicolously expensive.
I recently noticed that a danish provider provided the LG Viewty at a lower price than the DORO "easy call"

Centennial is selling the HandleEasy 330 for $39.99 with a 30-month (you read that right) contract... about $10-20 more than the average basic dumbphone offered by Centennial. It's not as cheap as some of their other phones (all of which are AT&T or T-Mobile leftovers from 6 months to 1 year ago), but it's not as expensive as an N95 or a Touch Diamond.
Still, I wonder if AT&T will pick up this phone. After are, they are in the process of buying Centennial...

Doro is a Swedish company that makes home electronic products.
So I would guess the picture is from a Swedish version of the phone since Nummer means Number in swedish
as well as in german.
I just hope they change this on the US model.
