Get a Storm for a C-note less than usual
If the BlackBerry Storm's $199.99 retail price on contract after rebate isn't sitting particularly well with you, there's an alternative you may want to investigate. LetsTalk, purveyors of the free Bold, have outdone themselves with a rebate-laden $99 Storm; granted, the catch is that you've got to sign up for a plan package of $69.99 or higher, but let's be honest -- plenty of Storm buyers are going to be doing just that anyway.

I can't speak from personal experience because I've never used them but just google "lets talk scam" and see what happens...
I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.

Has anyone ever dealt with LetsTalk before? If this is legit it would be pretty huge.

let's talk is a shady company. read reviews online before jumping into this. They make you jump through hoops just to get your rebate. Read the Terms and Conditions, don't say the reviews didn't warn you.

Good luck getting your rebates from those b*stards!

you say that like any other place quickly and easily coughs up their rebates.
anyone who buys something based on a rebate is an idiot. i treat them like a little bonus IF i actually receive a check in the end; rebates do not affect my purchasing decision in any way.

stupid reply system not working.... sorry if this turns out to be a repost. I refreshed the page 4 times after making my comment. Here it is again:
lots of other place now make rebates easy. Like verizon, staples, best buy. I've yet to not receive a rebate promised to me. Read some reviews on how sloppy Let's Talk is when it comes to rebates.

Grrrr.... I didn't know of any rebate issues with lets Talk. I would have never ordered the phone. But Hey let me wait and see what happens...
freshnycboy @ Nov 21st 2008 3:12PM
I just checked Walmart.com and They have the same deal and it's a rebate from lets talk.
oakie @ Nov 21st 2008 2:59PM
ive bought from letstalk.com before and they're not a scam at all. and no, i dont work for them in any way. as for the required data plan, remember that verizon requires a data plan on all of their smartphones, so there's no way you can get it for less than $69.99/mo directly from verizon anyways. i previously bought a Blackberry Curve through them for verizon about 4 months ago with no issues whatsoever and got it for free with a $69.99/mo contract for 2 years, which is the same as if i had bought it at a verizon store except i got the phone for free as opposed to $150.
but based on my previous experience, it's wirefly.com (simplexity) that you have out watch out for as they tried to renege on their 30-day return guarantee with my one and only attempt at a purchase through them in the past.
wcnghj @ Nov 21st 2008 6:15PM
That deal is for new verizon customers only.
Also they charge their own ETF of $250 ontop of the verizon one.
N.Rosario @ Nov 21st 2008 9:10PM
its a scam we already got an alert
Tony Ortiz @ Nov 21st 2008 9:25PM
I really do laugh at anyone that's dumb enough to buy from them after googling them.
Good luck.
