Android-powered Sciphone Dream G2 is neither dreamy nor the G1's successor
The G1's taken some flak for being just a little less fashion-forward than the hottest handsets on the market, but as retail Android handsets go, it's the most beautiful thing going -- and we think that illustrious title's safe for the time being. Meet the "Dream G2" (groan) from China's Sciphone, a brick of an Android-powered handset promised for a November 28 release featuring EDGE data, WiFi, 4-megapixel cam with autofocus, 50MB of internal memory, microSD expansion to 16GB, FM radio, a QVGA display, and "the most advanced software ever engineered." Without a physical keyboard (as far as we can see, anyhow) and no software support in Android promised for a few months at minimum, it's unclear how you'll input text, but hey, the release is still a good ten days away -- maybe these guys are good at thinking on their feet.

This Chinese Company has no right to call this the G2 as it is NOT the Official G2 from HTC. This Phone is Pure C R A P. G2 will be HTC Touch HD-esque.

It's incredible how you fanboys jump so fast to defend a company. A company that you probably dont know or have any associations with.
I, for one, welcome our chinese overlords' flood of android based mobiles.

yea because im sure HTC were the first people to combine the letter 'G' and number '1'. i would hate to see you on BINGO night.....

Of course they were. Heck, Asus was copying HTC's naming scheme before they even released the T-Mobile G1.

i was wondering about that keyboard situation as well. i cant seem to understand why a touch keyboard wasnt a priority on such a touch centric OS.

Looks more like a nightmare! Very dated!

I think all Mobile Phones from China will use Android, because it is open, free and better than Operational Sistem they made there.
Here in Brazil, exists a lot of Cellphones clones, they cost 1/4 of price, if you compare with originals.
Some people were deceived, because they do not know the difference between the originals and the clones.

The OS is probably the only thing that's free in China. This phone is a yawner.
I can't wait to see what the Meizu makers will do with Android! Maybe not.
