HTC Touch Pro graces Bell, gets non-outrageous price
We seriously have no idea how Bell managed to beat Telus out of the gate with this one, but they did -- so, you know, more power to 'em. The HTC Touch Pro has now landed on Bell's airwaves, putting the mighty WinMo set on the path to becoming one of the most widely-launched smartphones in North America in recent history; on that note, Verizon is probably feeling a little sheepish right about now, but with any luck, they'll be fixing that up in short order. Meanwhile, Bell subs can go ahead and hook up a Touch Pro for just $239.95 CAD (about $195) on a three-year contract, so if you can see yourself punching away on the same QWERTY board for thirty six months, get to it.

I thought paying $300+ was outrageous but a 36-month contract? That's just as bad. Although neither of them are as bad as the Xperia deal... now THAT is the real joke of the Q4 Phone Launches.
Lots of Touch Pro info organized at: http://HTCTouchPro.org

It could be worse, My carrier (Verizon) is offering this phone for $350. Ridiculous.

Gotta agree about the Xperia. What a joke.

3 year contracts are the most ridiculous thing ever. Why, Canada, why?

I talked to a guy at one of the Telus stores and he said that the reason why the Pro was delayed for so long (and is still delayed), was because the Diamond came out with a huge glitch. Some people couldn't even get the thing to start up. So after paying your bills to Telus, you had to send the thing off for RMA for 4 weeks before you got your 'brand new phone' to play with.
They said they couldn't afford to have the same thing happen with the Pro, so the delays continue on until they are sure they have something to work with.
That said, I wasn't going to wait for a possibly buggy phone from Telus, so I bought my Pro from Bell on Friday. And Derrick, amen brother. Canadians get so screwed over with their plans, and locked in Contracts. Not much you can do about it though; hoping the bandwidth auctions will invite some new competition into the fold though....

Dude I know what you mean. I have been waiting for the Telus Touch Pro forever now, mainly because I am locked in a stupid 3 year contract on my last phone, which happens to be broken now and doing all sorts of weird stuff, and don't want to fork out the cash to cancel it. And then seeing that Bell beat them to it makes me want to cry. =(
At least there is a logical reason for the Telus delay. And you have to believe their launch is imminent. They have the phone in their pamphlets in stores and their stores already have dummy units so I can only wait in anticipation.
Hurry Telus you are driving my crazzzyyyy >_

I recently bought the HTC touch Pro for $600 at bell, but I have a contract with Telus.
Would I be able to use a bell phone with Telus company?
The reason I bought it from Bell, is because Bell was cheaper then Telus.
