It is at "UNLOCKED" price. Check your local BESTBUY ad (this week) and look at the unlocked prices for any phone. Even in the past if you ever decided to buy any phone you purchased thru your carrier unlocked w/o a contract you are gonna more. Next time try and buy your next phone w/o a contract and see how much it cost. I dont care if its one of those cheap low-end so called "free" phone with a contract. Try and buy that "free" phone w/o a contract and I bet it would cost a minimal of $200.

Bottom line is if you can't afford it, don't complain and whine about Sony just cause you can't have it.

Ken

Comments on Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1a available for pre-order at Best Buy

OH...btw, I forgot to add these other unlocked prices...

Sprint Palm Centro: $519 (free with contract)

LG Shine: $359 (free with contract)

....So if a Sprint Palm Centro can be over 500 bucks..why cant a SE x1 be $800.

Some of you dont understand or know anything about the unlocked, unbranded phone market. Thats why alot of people are complaining. Its the price you have to pay because its NOT ON CONTRACT. People were probably saving up for it, but not a damn 800 bucks to by a WinMo. The iphone has both options and it sells well when its on contract, which could have been the same for Sony Ericsson but no. So all the people who are mad that people are comlaining need to deal with it. Just like when everyone complained the iphone was 600 dollars when it first came out. What if they never put the Bold on AT&T and sold it at best buy for $800 unlocked, people would complain. Its not that we "dont know about gadgets", that thing is just expensive and people feel the need to complain about it. So stfu!

killacam

Comments on Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1a available for pre-order at Best Buy

But it's not SE's fault if a US carrier doesn't pick up their device and besides their aint too many companies doing well financially anywhere right now. But for over a month now, in the UK and where ever you can import the X1i, it has been sold-out. SOLD OUT. With that being said regardless of what you think, people are apparently buying it. ALL cell phones are expensive unlocked, its been the case forever. Speaking of the Bold its been out several months now and just now released w/ AT&T, but 2-3 months ago unlocked, its on par with the X1a price. The old SE P990i when it 1st released was more than the X1, it retailed at 1,000 (USD) when it 1st released. I'm not debating whether or not a carrier should have picked them up or not, all Im stating is that the price of this X1 unlocked phone is NOT anything new. Its right at the price expected for a high-end unlocked phone and anyone who knows gadgets and tech knows this. Like I said earlier, a friggin LG Dare is $599 and Bold is $679. Its not SE fault if AT&T didnt want to carry them. And btw, who's to say in 09 that At&t wont carry them anyway. So spare me with the google-base knowledge and like I said go read a book.

Ken

Comments on Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1a available for pre-order at Best Buy

and all I am saying ken is that people are complaining because its not on contract and this makes it expensive and alot of people will not buy it because of this. Once it hits AT&T then all is well for the X1. You should learn to read a post too, especially if you say you can read books; even though i cant believe you would look up actual books on Sony Ericsson. And everything is google based knowledge buddy, its called a search engine so it has pretty much every site on the web. SO spare me your wannabe witty comments, and poor insults and read a damn post before you put your damn foot in your mouth, oops you already did. yes you have a point but you made it clear in your posts when you went crazy trying to show people how unlocked phones are expensive at best buy. others can read posts as well and i knew this. I was clearly making another point.

killakam

Comments on Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1a available for pre-order at Best Buy

just FYI guys any bestbuy location with tmobile will sell it subsidised with contract.

whitesol

Comments on Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1a available for pre-order at Best Buy

Whatever you say killakam, my mistake. I am glad a sony store alone is on their second wave of orders.MAYBE then i was wrong but you cant tell till later. Feel free to use all your time being the sony fan boy you are and continue to put info on this page. i will check it from time to time. We can only wait to see how many people actually buy this. Of course there is going to be the first wave of buyers but what about longevity? UNless it goes to contract, which was my point I dont think its going to last buddy, unless it goes on contract. We just dont know. Plus you dont even give what store or if its the website, you just say a sony store. check your facts and give me everything if your gonna keep on beating the dead horse wich i had left on the side of the road already until you brought it back to me. Even if the X1 becomes the greatest phone of all time, your still a big fucking loser. Yes that was immature as well, but you deserve it.
