With the 8900 having
just launched on T-Mobile Germany, it only stands to reason that T-Mobile's US subsidiary would be a logical next step; after all, it's
already brought in the WiFi-equipped 8320, and the 8900 is the next progression in that bloodline. It also makes a ripe competitor for the
Bold, which just saw the light of day on T-Mobile's
much-larger rival -- and seeing how RIM has now mentioned that the 8900 will be coming stateside in the first quarter of 2009, we're feeling like a T-Mob launch is about as close to a sure thing as you can find these days. The only question is, why wait so long? When you consider that the darned thing just passed the FCC, we're not seeing a compelling reason to hold it until after the crucial holiday season unless they're looking to give the
8220 some breathing room -- and hey, sorry, 8220, but in a battle against the 8900, you're going to go down every time.

So what happened to AT&T's Sapphire 8320...?
I figured they nixed it because of the positive outlook on the 8900...but RIM say 2009... -shrug-

The RIM rep told us that we would have it here at T-Mobile in January. If that is true, we won't have to wait too long.

They are actually giving the Bold some breathing room. AT&T first. We win. :-)

At first i thought it was coming to at&t... but at&t's got the Bold which is a 3G blackberry. Now, i know its a t-mobile device, so im guessing this is t-mobiles
device to compete against at&t... which we win like stephan says. LOL!!! The bold beats this curve hands down, its got 3G data, the look, and looks way classier than curve.

Looks are subjective, 3G is overrated, and the Javelin has a 3.2 megapixel camera. EDGE is fine for what many BB users want and that's email. The Bold is also a massive device. Javelin is considerably smaller.
Besides, it's not a competition and if you compete with people over cell phones, well, sucks to be you.

Guess it's safe to assume this won't be on VZW till like Christmas 2009 then.
