BlackBerry 9530 Storm pricing revealed on VZW staging server
Ah, now this is a bit more solid pricing information. Verizon's testman pre-launch site now lists the BlackBerry 9530 Storm for $219.99 under a 2 year contract. Not quite below the $199 threshold set by the iPhone 3G as predicted by some analysts. Then again, the fat lady isn't singing yet so maybe we'll see some kind of mail-in rebate before this gets officially official. Without contract, we're looking at $520 according to the staging server. Pretty close the prices we saw hinted at early last week. See that screen grab and another for the $290 one-year contract after the break.
Update: It's worth stressing that these prices could just be leftover placeholders. In fact, much of the describing text refers to the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Smartphone which currently sells for pre-rebated price of $219.99.

You're welcome Engadget. :)

I doubt this weekend as all the employee trainings go out to the 18th. I would expect a release date around Thanksgiving, either the day before or after. Last year the big phone was the Voyager and that was released the day before

Let's see...
The BlackBerry Storm will probably be $219 with 2-year contract.
Then VZW throws in a $70 mail-in rebate debit card (they always use a $70 rebate for BlackBerries).
This means the final price will probably be $149... SWEET! Watch out iPhone and G1!

I called Verizon customer service last night and asked the guy what is the actual release date for the storm, he looked it up in his computer and he told me the Nov. 16th.
The D Train @ Nov 11th 2008 6:12PM
You were lied to, no one outside of execs or developers have been notified when the Storm is being released or how much it is going to cost. We are not expecting to be given the information until the phone is officially released. THis is not per usual as we noramlly have this information 1-2 weeks in advance. This however seems to be kept particularly under wraps (which is quite frustrating because its becoming a call driver and generally pissing me off, even as tech spprt.)
badqat @ Nov 11th 2008 10:21AM
Hey, didn't engadget tell us $99 for the Storm? I'm thinking you did...
$219 is still cheaper than it's going to import a Vodaphone model from Europe...but not cheap enough to get me to leave AT&T for big red.

aww poor baby

I had a dream last night that I was doing the hands-on review for the blackberry storm. : ( I need this phone in my life.
Who? @ Nov 11th 2008 12:04PM
I call BS on the price. When was the last time Verizon released a phone where the last four digits of the release date price were not 99.99 or 49.99?
Todd @ Nov 11th 2008 12:23PM
Don't forget, as a current Verizon customer, you get it for $100 off of 2 yr contract price, $119 sounds like a bargain.
agoob @ Nov 11th 2008 12:28PM
Seriously, not good enough to make me buy it.. Im waiting for the htc touch pro.. Plus all the reviews have said this phone has a crappy touchscreen and it unresponsive.. Display is nice, but is it really worth gettign with the lack of Wifi.. I will hold out until the Omnia and Touch Pro have been out a while and get a better feel for them all..

I'm at at end with T-mobile, 3G is the next and ruling thing. Do I leave T-Mobile for either Verizon or AT&T, for the Bold or the Storm. T-Mobile will "MAYBE" eventually get the BOLD? Who knows. The Javelin for T-Mobile looks nice, but no 3G. Any advise out there? The BOLD looks nice, but the Storm looks surprising and might just push buyers there way, help!!!!!!

Maybe you make your own decision based on your own research? Do you need the internet to wipe your butt too?
Scott @ Nov 11th 2008 2:11PM
Is it at all possible for the idiots at VZW to remove this from their main page?
"A phone is only as good as the network it's on. You can have it all - 3G network and the latest devices"
Why? Cause we all know the the last three words a freakin' JOKE!
Introducing one high end nice device a year (this year it's the storm) hardly qualifies for saying you can have it all including latest devices.

A Smart one in the house, to bad your not smart enuff to give an opion on what's being asked. I have done my homework, just seeing if any one had a little more advise or an opion on the question.

And you unintelligent enough to misspell opinion.
Mike1650 @ Nov 11th 2008 8:53PM
This description is for the 8830 and I think so the price. $220 almost seems too reasonable for Verizon.
Sarah @ Nov 12th 2008 9:44AM
I just preordered the other day, and the SA at Best Buy said Nov. 16th.
I'm pretty much stoked.
dv paul @ Nov 14th 2008 4:56AM
