It's getting harder by the second for a midrange Samsung slider to look different from the four hundred others, but we've got to say, this here
a777 isn't half-bad looking. Images of the AT&T-bound phone are starting to pop up around the interwebs, showing a stylish shell that'll be available in four colors -- blue, red, orange, and green -- not unlike its
a737 cousin. We don't have it pegged to a release date yet, but if we know cellphones -- and we think we do -- we certainly wouldn't be surprised to see it come about before the holidays at a sub-$100 price point.

Yes, it does have 3g.

3G or not, I'd rather keep my Samsung D807. The browser on these phones is BRUTAL.

i dont understand why at&t likes to double brand their phones so much, with one logo on the screen and another on the center button. its beyond tacky.

meh...stick this one back under the covers.

i'm tired of samsung and at&t rolling out these midrange bs phones... at&t, please put out some good high end nseries or samsungs, or something! it's like pulling teeth with you guys.. and i'm paying through the nose on service to get crap devices.
the 6650 is my only choice and it's taking forever to come out.

I agree... and disagree. It is frustrating to watch carriers put out phone after phone with the same specs, seeming to imply that there might be some reason to choose one painfully boring, vanilla handset over the other. On the other hand, I think current mid-range Samsung sliders represent the ideal phone for many people. For a dumbphone, I love the software and the form factor is perfect. I had little trouble resisting the urge to make the move into smartphone territory until the G1, which is what I'm using now. But a day doesn't go by that I don't miss the barely-there-in-your-pocket feeling of my D900. The A737 rocks too if all you're doing is calling and texting.

ive been waiting for the 6650 as well. what the hell is taking so long? the phone wont even matter by the time it comes out because the 5800 will be around the corner. i love my n76 but want US 3G. i was hoping the 6650 would be my solution.
as far as this a777, it looks like a cheap wannabe lg shine. i swear, at&t keeps releasing phones from lg that look similar to existing samsungs and vice versa. whats the point of that???
bozonpjs @ Nov 10th 2008 10:37PM
well the 6650 is out and some hofoers have their mits on them. so there you go caligirl.

Nice color though.

If anyone cares (I sure as hell don't) it releases November 11th.
