AT&T Fuze hitting on November 11 for $299.99?
We figured those dummies probably meant something good was about to happen, and sure enough, evidence is building that we're just days away from an official Fuze release. Boy Genius Report has been ever so graciously provided with documentation suggesting that we'll see HTC's latest WinMo greatness on AT&T shelves come November 11 (just a day after the Quickfire) for $299.99 after contract and rebate discounts have been applied -- or a solid $499.99 if you want to kick it commitment-free. That pricing is right in line with the Bold, making for an interesting, drama-rich showdown heading into the end of the year. Fight!

Finally!
Good news is that they kept Opera. Bad news is that the leaked docs don't say anything about FM radio and TV out. Still, fingers crossed...

I'm eligible for an upgrade through AT&T on the 21st. Can't decide between the Fuze/Touch Pro or an iPhone.
I feel like I would get more overall use out of an iPhone, as opposed to the HTC.. which I would basically use solely for SMS/email.
Any thoughts?

they're (xda-dev) actively working to get android up and running. if you don't like winmo, you'll soon have an alternative.

Well, I can tell you that I LOVE my iPhone. I don't regret purchasing it all. Yes, it does have its quirks, but I can't even begin to describe how convenient it is to have my phone, iPod, and internet device all wrapped up in one beautiful package. Let's just say, I don't have to worry about being bored in class.

I'd have to say the Touch Pro. You get all the benefits of the iPhone, with none of the iPhone's limitations (physical keyboard, open platform OS, copy/paste, video recording, MMS, expandable memory)

I'm torn too. I love iPhone's multi-touch for zooming in and zooming out of pages, but I hate how crippled they made it. I would have liked data over bluetooth so that I could use some kind of bluetooth keyboard with the iPhone.

The number of things a Windows Mobile device can do over the iPhone is absolutely unprecedented, but that is only if you are willing to customize the crap out of your phone, whereas the iPhone is great from the start. The main advantage that you have with Windows Mobile is that, while it's not the best out-of-the-box, the thousands upon thousands (perhaps millions) of third party apps that are available for it completely overshadow the offerings of the iPhone's App Store. On the downside, the open nature of Windows Mobile leaves it open to major stability issues. The advantages of the iPhones are its extremely easy-to-use interface and the stable nature of OSX. For me personally, the iPhone's interface is almost too simple, to the point where it's actually somewhat boring, but for others it's absolutely perfect. Whether the Fuze or iPhone is better for you is a matter of what YOU need in a phone. A lot of people will tell you one is better than the other and try to give you reasons why, but no one can tell you which device will be better for YOUR personal needs. If you want something that has nearly endless potential for customization, the Fuze is for you. If you want something that will be to your liking from the moment you turn it on, the iPhone may be perfect. I would recommend you try both before making a decision as hands on experience is always the best indicator of what will be best for your needs. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose.

I can't

OK that was weird
What I meant to say was
"I can't imagine getting more out of the iphone than the fuze"
The only things the iphone has over the fuze is the screen size, form factor, and ease of use
In terms of getting things done/doing more, the possibilities are endless for the fuze, since it's a WinMo phone
Or am I missing something here?

I have a G1 Iphone and my gf has the 3g Iphone and she loves it. I hate it. I'm in medical school and would like the copy&paste feature, A2DP, and other functions that the Iphone doesn't have. IF you just need music, and internet browsing, I'm sure the Iphone will be enough. The Iphone has the best mobile browser, hands down (esp. when you factor in ease of use and navigation). I'm only offering my view...best thing is to play with both inside the store, not just with phones, but everything you are buying.
DaveIsOnIt! @ Nov 7th 2008 4:34AM
ell Skyfire is quickly taking the best browser claim...even compared to Opera
rudefyet @ Nov 7th 2008 4:37AM
Looking forward to getting one, not sure if I'll sell my iPhone right away, but I really miss multi-tasking like I did on my Mogul.
