Blackberry Bold shows up for free on contract at Walmart
Well hell, that Blackberry Bold decision just got a lot easier if you're, uh, bold enough to sign a two-year contract with AT&T -- it's now free after rebate at Walmart. Yep, it's only been out for two days and Wally's already handing 'em for free -- somehow we don't think that's gonna happen with the Storm. Still, this is the one you want if you double-heart keyboards with itty-bitty keys -- just make sure you actually mail in the forms, okay?
Update: The deal is through LetsTalk, so if you and Sam aren't getting along you can order direct from them.

first! wow finally
but my god. free?? 300 dollars off. thats insane
i wish the fuze had this same price tag when it gets released

this requires a data plan
so if you only plan to use wifi (wink wink), this is going to be more expensive
ethan @ Nov 5th 2008 2:28AM
simple: sign up for that first month with whatever they require for the freeness, then cancel as soon as your rebate check goes through. (Might take 3 months.)
You're not LOCKED into any add on's, or any rate plans for that matter.
But I think Let's Talk is shady as hell.
M @ Nov 5th 2008 9:28PM
Yeah I agree about Let's Talk seeming shady.
I was going to do a 4 line family plan order through them a few years ago. I researched about them as much as I could by reading reviews, reading all of the terms on the rebates. I read and heard they use sneaky tactics to try to make you lose out on the rebate -- not worth the aggravation is basically the short of it.

It looks as though the plans that are required are far more expensive than the basic plans you're able to get. At least $59.99 for JUST voice or JUST data, minimum. Otherwise, it's $299.
slowburn @ Nov 4th 2008 6:34PM
According to Giz, you need a 1350 minute plan with unlimited text messaging.
Joe @ Nov 4th 2008 6:58PM
In order to qualify, your total plan comes out to $129.99. And that's the cheapest plan. No thanks.
Porsche @ Nov 4th 2008 7:28PM
You would have to be stepped on by a pink elephant for that rebate to pay off. And thats IF you are willing to shell out the MRC to get eligable. Lets Talk is a rip-off.
GBallew @ Nov 4th 2008 9:05PM
What, $130 is too expensive for you guys? thats not too bad really. For 1350 minutes unlimited texting AND unlimited web/email. If your not spending that already on a BlackBerry, you really should think about switching phones. Jeez, y'all are spoiled and think that everything should be handed to when it comes to cell pho9nes. Boo freaking hoo, grow up and realize that your not going to get everything free from a BUSINESS!!
brian @ Nov 4th 2008 10:13PM
i think the plan and everything is fine... what killed it for me is that you have to submit your 4th month service bill and it takes another 8-10 weeks. so that's 24-26 weeks, or 6 - 6.5 months. no thanks.
M @ Nov 5th 2008 9:33PM
This is exactly how most people lose their rebate. Let's Talk leaves you a very small window to submit your rebate, and even then I've read of all sorts of sheisty things happening. I went through amazon when I did my 4 line plan a few years ago; it was easy and I still saved a bundle.
sbro @ Nov 4th 2008 10:30PM
It is still $199 upfront without the rebate which is cheaper than anywhere else. Just change your plan after you get it and forget about the rebate.
Nick @ Nov 4th 2008 11:09PM
I called..... I am eligible for an upgrade through my current ATT contract although they said it would be $499.00 with a 2 year renewal - YEAH you heard me $499......and 2 yrs. This deal is for NEW non-ATT customers only!!!
Brad @ Nov 5th 2008 12:09AM
Ya, all of the stuff u see on wal-mart.com is from letstalk.com ... that price is only offered online, not in stores, and with the whole letstalk.com thing, you have to maintain a particular rate plan for 181 days, and the rebate form can only be submitted after first four months of service and you will get that rebate back within 8-10 weeks upon them verifying you kept that plan ! anddd paid the bill in FULL balance on that fourth month... they do stuff like that on other handsets as well... for instance on other phones, if you dont keep the same plan you started with, they charge you a $250 commissions fee, thats from them not the carrier... very shady business !!
i saw this phone today at my local best buy, it was around $299, but there's no rebate for that, thats the price in store. think i might go for it !
Jeremy @ Nov 5th 2008 2:55AM
Just wait guys, Wirefly already has it for 199 after MIR, which is great. So it will get cheaper quick. I ordered my Pearl with them, and other than the Pearls issues, no problems with wirefly. Just read the fine print!
Alex @ Nov 5th 2008 3:38AM
I just checked Walmarts website! It's $299.99 with a $100 mail in rebate... RIP OFF, and the plans are way more expensive! This is all BS, just wait a few months and it will be cheaper! Or be a cool cat like me and wait for the JAVELIN!
aokusman @ Nov 5th 2008 9:08AM
Careful, Letstalk are known to be scammers when it comes to mail in rebates. Just do a search.
Tony Ortiz @ Nov 5th 2008 9:48AM
Read the fine print, you're signing 2 contracts fools.
Dont be dumb enough to sign up for this.
George @ Nov 12th 2008 9:51AM
so I compared this to wirefly and att's own site. they allow you to get less expensive plans, but assuming you'll still want 900 minutes and 1500 messages per month, then it's only 25 more a month to use letstalk. If you only have to do that for 4 months, then you still save 100 with letstalk.
I've never had a smartphone, but need one for work now. I want the bold. Can someone tell me why this wouldn't be a better deal than going through att or wirefly?
