Bell Mobility's HTC Touch Diamond gets video unboxing
Not that you haven't seen the HTC Touch Diamond unboxed before, but have you seen Bell Mobility's Touch Diamond unboxed on video before? Nah, we reckoned not. If you're anxious to see just how astoundingly different this here WinMo set is on Canada's fav-o-rite CDMA carrier (not that we can authenticate either of those claims or anything), hop on past the break and mash play.

Bell just recently got it, however Telus has had this, HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Dual since a month now.
TheNewGuy @ Nov 2nd 2008 1:31AM
Yeah, that's cause Bell sucks! So they never manage to score a phone on time.
Scazza @ Nov 2nd 2008 1:32AM
Bell has had the Dual for like 6 months now, and gets the pro on the 15th of this month, same as Telus is supposed to.

When it comes to Canadian cell phone providers, I can't even make jokes. It doesn't matter which one you choose, they ALL take advantage of and abuse their customers really terribly just because they can. I think the average Canadian with a cell phone spends about 78 dollars on a month on their bill. Canada also has one of the lowest rates of cell phone penetration in the developed world, probably because a lot of people can't afford one. How wonderful. Did I mention the mandatory 3 year contracts?
I think Rogers is the worst. Cutting their store managers' wages first, and now their sales staff's commission about in half, after seeing an 84% increase in profits and record subscriber adds over the summer. They have about 2.4 billion dollars in liquidity and are about to raise their stock dividend. A company doing amazingly well in a world economic crisis (due in no small part to their workers). Hmm, making a shitload of money working your staff to the bone and then cutting pay right before Christmas! Wholesome.
I'm American and I live in California but every time I go up there I'm amazed by how bad the companies are. When I saw the Rogers/Fido wage cuts I fricken' flipped just out of respect for the workers
Boo Canada wireless energy and Canadian government regulation, boo! I hope the Canadian AWS spectrum auctions create A LOT of heat for the existing big three!

apparently you know nothing about Telus! The biggest scam in this country is Telus. they went throughout western Canada buying and destroying phone companies. they took great service and changed it to shit. they carry less then 1% of available phones on the market. the only time they have good plans are when they steal them from other carriers. most of this applies to Bell as all they can do is copy telus. no matter how bad you think rogers/fido is they kill the competition. also if you know what you are doing fido/rogers is the best carrier in north america for data. there is only one carrier in the world that has a true unlimited data plan and that is Vodaphone Ireland.
also bell and telus have still not entered the 3.5g market with evdo rev.b which they promised over 2 years ago.
Fil @ Nov 2nd 2008 9:56AM
wow its glad to see some many unfounded comments.
@valicore-- 3-yr contracts are not you have the choice between mtm, 1,2,3 year contracts most people take 3 as they dont want to pay for a phone... and im pretty sure canada has had mtm contracts longer than the states since verizon just launched them.
@moe you mixed up the companies rogers/fido were the biggest scam in the country. it wasnt til the iphone launch that they changed their data plans to make sense, yet for a full year and a half telus has had $15 UNLIMITED DATA! i dont see any american company with that. and bell and telus never promised rev b to happen two years ago... they had no idea were they were going for 4g so now they chose lte they are launching HSPA.
you people should learn your facts before you talk out off no where....
lmao im still laughing at "also if you know what you are doing fido/rogers is the best carrier in north america for data" hahhahahahaha

Sprint has $15 a month unlimited data add ons for the phones. Granted its capped at 5GB but im a heavy internet user on my phone and have yet to top 1GB of data a month. Thats including many file downloads. I can see who they are targeting with the cap and its not 99% of cellphone users.
Mufasa @ Nov 2nd 2008 10:49AM
Wow, could that guy rush through that any quicker?
essemm @ Nov 2nd 2008 10:58AM
Exactly what I was thinking... time to ease off the caffeine.
Nal @ Nov 2nd 2008 11:44AM
Uh? He could have at least showed us the TF3D and if it was customized for Bell. Who cares about the unboxing when it's already been seen a thousand times already.
slashd0t @ Nov 2nd 2008 9:51PM
Too bad Bell is the worst carrier ever.
nc @ Nov 3rd 2008 2:51AM
Yeah, I'm with Telus and my bill is just under $70 a month and that's with very little extras. What I love most about Telus is that in the area I live, we do not have "911" service, yet I have no choice but to pay a "911 fee" every month.
