Palm Treo Pro listed at Sprint Mobile Software site

Take a good, hard look at that picture above. We know what you're thinking, and you're thinking Sprint might have a CDMA version of the Palm Treo Pro lined up for action. If you'll recall, this isn't the first time (this month) that we've seen a rather believable hint that such an occurrence was on the way, and generally speaking, smokes tends to signal fire. We were always curious about Palm's choice to launch this directly at high-end business users without giving it to a carrier, and apparently, it's been curious as well. So, anyone got any outlandish guesses on a release date?

My guess: President's Day weekend in Feb. There's usually a device launch or 2 around then, and Sprint's not smart enough to get it in for the '08 holidays....

Don't get all excited just yet--the Sprint Software Store is powered by Handmark, which also has it's own branded software catalog. I bet that the Treo Pro was accidentally included in their Sprint device database due to a Handmark error--not because Sprint is launching that device soon.

I spoke to Sprint rep. on the 26th of this month and she confirmed that Sprint will be releasing Palm Treo Pro by the end of the year.

Great. Now all I have to do is convince Sprint my Treo 800w got problems (which is does!!) and get the Treo Pro. Seeing as its built by HTC, might be a better experience.

dammit. why in the hell does Verizon hate Treos? i dont want a stupid BlackBerry, i want a WinMo Treo. Sprint doesnt have coverage where i live at all but Verizon has a little bit (enough for me to get text messages and the occasional call) but i much prefer the phone catalog (and plan pricing/features) of Sprint. i guess i just dont understand why Verizon cant carry both BlackBerry's and Treo's (or at least Treo's that arent like 3 years old when they come out).

So Sprint is allegedly going to have both new Treo's before Verizon even gets one. unbelievable.

I just spoke to a sprint rep who told me that the Treo Pro is due at the end of the month or December 1!!!!!!! He said it was mentioned in a couple of memos he had received. Who can say if its true or not but thats what he said.
