Kodak signs into patent cross-license agreement with Nokia

Details are pretty scant at the moment, but Eastman Kodak Company has entered into a mysterious patent license agreement with Nokia. All we're told is that the deal will enable each outfit "access to the other's intellectual property portfolio," and it'll also provide "significant benefits to both companies, [while being] royalty bearing to Kodak." Outside of that, we're left to wonder what's in store here, so what they hey -- we'll take a stab: a Kodak sensor within the not-yet-conceived N97? Or maybe a Kodak-branded printer-scanner-fax machine in the Tube 2? The intrigue is killing us.

Rumors on the internets say Nokia is getting Kodak's oled display techs.

Not as exciting, I know. I blame those internets. That and alcohol, I blame alcohol too.

I love seeing Kodak doing well. We need at least one US company afloat these days & Kodak seems to be making real inroads in the economy that left them behind a dozen or so years ago.

I'll bet this is related to Kodak's OLED projects. They've been working on OLEDs for years and have made some great breakthroughs in brightness and lifespan. The N85 has an OLED screen, so this seems obvious to me.

Just a small correction, the N85 have a OMLED screen, which is far better than the "regular" OLED screens...
