It's because the same phone is available on Sprint Nextel's prepaid carrier Boost Mobile which is carried by Target.

Because Qchat capable phones are unable to roam in other Nextel/Mike markets and according to Sprint's comparison site, Qchat phones cannot do International Direct Connect.

I don't think it looks ugly, but I don't think it's worth $79.99. I don't understand why Nextel phones have always been so expensive--I could get a Shadow for $30 less than that underpowered thing.
