Latest spy shots show AT&T Fuze defaced with carrier's logo
We'd been encouraged in previous spy shots that AT&T was intending to keep a clean, brand-free look on the front of the Fuze, but what were we thinking? That'd never sit well with the suits up on the 49th floor of AT&T's headquarters (we just made that up, by the way -- we have no idea how many floors AT&T's headquarters has), and sure enough, the latest batch of shots is showing a big ol' logo slapped on the upper right of the face. The poster says release is currently planned for early November, but we'd say that target is about as solid as one of those Jello rings you make in a bundt mold. We'll believe it when it's on the shelf, as they say.

Anyone know if ATT took the forward facing cam out too?
Shimmy @ Oct 11th 2008 2:41PM
See, I can't tell if it's the at&t logo at the top, or the cam
Esquire0399 @ Oct 11th 2008 9:52PM
@ Shimmy:
That is clearly the ATT symbol on the top right. A US carrier would never release a phone with a front-facing camera, at least not at this point in time.

Shoot, I guess I was getting my hopes up :(
Now, I just need to know the price, since I'm gonna have to pick this up at near no-contract price to replace my Q

i think. i thought it was wear the logo was not sure. but i think they might have taken it off. so does this mean that att is not planning to get the htc diamond? i really don't like the thickness of the qwerty keyboard?
any information?
Brian @ Oct 11th 2008 3:17PM
they took the front cam off like they always do. theres really not too much of a need for it in the US
and i doubt they will get the diamond because of the iphone
and a user who has the fuze on xda said the cdma diamond is nearly as thick as the fuze
PeterF @ Oct 11th 2008 4:05PM
They said the CDMA one is nearly as thick as the Fuze, which I doubt. The GSM one is about half the thickness as the Fuze.

AT&T HQ looks like it might just have a 97th floor:

Anyone notice the "UFO" in the GMaps picture from the link above?
Look up the building and scroll to zoom.
They are watching us!

What worries me isn't the logo... it's that ugly AT@T software I'm seeing on the screen! What the heck is that? So help me if AT&T ruins the touchflo GUI with cheap WinMo junk, I'll buy an unlocked handset just to spite them.
But seriously, what's up with that? Will the interface look on the Fuze how it does on an unlocked Touch Pro?
Brian @ Oct 12th 2008 1:01PM
its still touch flo they just put their own theme on it like they always do but of course you can customize it stop worrying
Counsel @ Nov 11th 2008 4:38PM
So why won't the USA carriers release a phone with a camera on the front? I must have missed the memo...
Counsel @ Nov 11th 2008 5:03PM
PClark:
The AT&T software is under a single tab on the touch-flo interface. It has been shown that you can "fix" this, but at least it is under one tab...
Can you alter the settings to make the background black?
