Samsung's T919 for T-Mobile looking just fine on a magenta background
We're really pleased to see that T-Mobile's apparently going to be wasting no time in stocking up its nascent 3G rollout with pretty glorious hardware, starting at the top of the featurephone heap with the T919 that we've been hearing about for a while. TmoNews says that we can expect the F480-like bar to show up on November 10 for $149 on contract, which seems damned pretty reasonable for a phone with AWS HSDPA, a 5-megapixel camera with flash, and a full touchscreen. Don't get us wrong, we'll still take a G1 -- but this is a close second right now as AWS wares go. Okay, fine, not so close, but you know what we're saying.

That looks splendid. What is AWS? How about GPS! ABC? I am happy to see Tmobile finally getting their 3G head out of their ass.

Hmmmm... looks tempting. I've been waiting for a decent 3G phone from T-mobile to come out. Frankly, I don't like the G1. I just wish this phone had an OS that I can actually play with. Are there any programs available? Microsoft Exchange/Push Email support?? I'll probably get bored with it after a month.

AWS = the type of 3G network T-Mobile has

I'm not a fan of Samsung's proprietary interfaces.

how much would it be without contract?
bachviet @ Oct 9th 2008 12:51PM
Expect to add $200 on top of that for a non-contract price.

It's nice to see so many full screen touch phones on the market, at last.

@T-MO
I agree that Samsung proprietary interfaces can suck, but this is the first touchwiz phone I've seen on the US market, so at least they're progressing from the 3x3 blue and white icon grid.
