Motorola's Q11 gets official: WinMo 6.1, WiFi, 3MP camera
Not that Motorola's Q11 comes as any big surprise, but it's nice to see the Windows Mobile 6.1-packin' smartphone get all official on us. Now boasting its very own dedicated page on Moto's website, the Q11 comes to us with quad-band GPRS / EDGE (no 3G, for whatever reason), a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, 64MB of RAM, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1, a 320 x 240 resolution display, integrated GPS and a multimedia player with support for all sorts of file formats. You can also expect up to 450 minutes of talk time and up to 195 hours in standby, but you won't be able to wrap your paws around it until December. As for carriers and pricing? Patience, friends, patience.

Whats with the screen? its not centered in the device, its kinda off to the right?
superklye @ Oct 8th 2008 7:06PM
Eww...you're right. And what's with the OS skin? It looks like a really poor ripoff of the Blackberry OS.

Call me crazy, but it seems like it's even *more* off-center than the Q and Q9 are. I don't even notice it on my Q9, but that pic above really makes it stand out

@ superklye
Just F.Y.I. the skin is the 'sliding panels' interface for Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard

Ahhh...thanks ZSX. I've only seen WinMo 6.0 Pro on my Wing. :)

meh - doesn't really seem like much of an improvement over the Q9

looks like its marked for tmobile with no 3g

This looks like the ugliest, most useless device i've seen to date. What is it's purpose and who is the target market?
This is easily outdone by existing HTC's and Blackberry's (that don't look as though the buttons have been thrown into wherever they fit, BB Bold for example manages to have all these buttons and not look over cluttered??).
I just can't see what the target market for this device is, especially considering it lacks 3G (not to mention the fact that someone slipped while photoshopping the design and accidently put the screen offset to one side).

super"meh". nice key arrangement (vs the 9's, the geometric aspect here seems like it would be nice) but just no need. Like the Blackjack 2 vs. the 1, the 'improvements' are marginal. Motorola(still)=FAIL.

Supposedly there are indicator lights on the left on the screen, like bluetooth, gps, that sort of thing.
But yeah, I'd rather take the 3G on my Q9h, without the WiFi

I dont understand motos thinking on the smartphone side of things man....I mean comeon, they have been packin the same OMAP 850 and 64MB of RAM for years now!

What a piece of ##$$@$@#! I have a Q9 now. It is a great phone (minus the puny screen size that is). Wifi on a telephone is nowhere near as useful as 3G. This makes the Q11 a huge downgrade. Motorola, get with the game!
