Blackberry Storm dummy hits Verizon store
Well, it's not quite as big as that gigantic promo Bold, but dummies of the Blackberry Storm have started appearing in Verizon stores, and it's looking a lot, uh, more robust than we remember from all those leaks. Specs include an appropriately multicultural photo of happy people, non-functioning buttons, and a list of Verizon talking points. Still no hard release date, but we're guessing something this big can't be contained for much longer.

HOLY HUGE F****** PHONES BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omfg thats way too big. i was thinking about gettin one as my next phone, but no go now. this is way to freakin big
Bob @ Sep 30th 2008 12:18AM
This thing is only 1mm thicker than an iPhone otherwise its has about the same dimensions. In this picture the Storm is held closer to the camera than the smaller Pearl in the background. The iPhone would look the same if it were in the photo.

what are you talking about cl347bv?...are you an idiot?....they are comparing it the pearl and its not that much bigger...its pretty comparable to the iphone...what did you expect?...
cl347bv @ Sep 30th 2008 7:14AM
it looks pretty huge to me. im tryin to get away from the massive phone idea. i have an i760 now, and it annoys the hell out of me.
long as its smaller than the 8830, its still in contention.
i like the idea of it, and the pearl is a pretty nice size, it just seems bigger than i expected. i havent gotten the dummy yet in my store, but i did get the samsung sway dummy, and its f-ing sweet. if i dont get a smartphone next im all over the sway
Aaron @ Sep 29th 2008 11:30PM
Yeah, dude, don't flip out. It is pretty much the same size as an iphone give or take a bit
carcomptoy @ Sep 30th 2008 12:06AM
Yeah that angle isn't exactly flattering - definitely skewed perceptions. The dumb photographer should have placed the two phones side-by-side, but instead he chose to have the Storm farther up front making the Pearl look much smaller in comparison.

My thoughts exactly.
And yet.. @ Sep 30th 2008 3:01AM
I'm still not sold on this device yet, I dunno..it's just the whole touch screen I guess...btw, source your info right engadget, source actually came from http://forums.crackberry.com/f86/thing-heavyy-only-dummy-pics-77263/ don't get it twisted even BlackBerryNews corrected themselves on that one :P
SPOKE @ Sep 30th 2008 7:10AM
OMFG THAT THING IS AS LARGE AS A LARGE CELLPHONE THE DIMENSIONS ARE ASTRONOMICALLY GIGANTICAL AND LARGERNESS OF HUGEICAL.
WHY DO PEOPLE MAKE THOSE PHONES SO ENORMOUSICALLY BIGGERLY?
ITS SO VERY LARGE THAT ITS BIGGERNESS IS HUGIER THAN LARGERLY GIGANTICAL!
ckelly33 @ Sep 30th 2008 7:39AM
Anyone else notice that classy "coke" nail on the little finger of the dude in the other pics?

Can't care less if it's 1 mm thicker or larger then some other less spec'd phone.
The first device to arrive in Scandinavia between SE X1 experia, Blackberry storm, HTC touch hd, Samsung omnia or LG's can'trememberthename, is gonna get my money.
I'm sick of reading the wonders of smartphones that are always on the point of being shipped but are nowhere to be found.
Samsung recently presented the wonderful successor of the Omnia when the nobody has even ever seen an Omnia in the real world.
I start to think that this is just a marketing gimmik to sell the crapfones they are able to produce.
They hope people will go on saying:
-Yeah I know that my SE sucks, but hey , this is the brand that is going to launch the x1 experia any time now...-
We're so sick of the smoke , it's high time to show us some roast now.

It's beautiful, although that phone is quite large.
I'm sure that they'll come up with something thinner in the near future :)
