Let's do a quick recap, shall we? So we pretty much know everything there is to know about Verizon's forthcoming
BlackBerry Storm save for the price and release date, and so far as we can tell, Verizon's version of the Touch Diamond is still expected to be
totally underpowered compared to
Sprint's iteration. Now that we've rounded the tables, let's have a look at this image above. This here is Verizon's internal training schedule, and given that employees have to complete their Storm courses before November 2nd and their Touch Diamond courses before December 3rd, we'd say you now have a pretty good idea of when these two will be landing. Hey VZW -- think you could make that "Blocking Features Assessment" available to the public? We're guessing it'd be a real hit.

I'm sure its all dependant on inventory & shipments but there must be a typical time frame between completion o Verizon training and the launch of products. Anyone know how long after training does Verizon launch devices?

The 'blocking features assessment' is in regards to customers being able to block unwanted features like text messaging, applications downloads, etc. Not blocking hardware features on a handset.

Gee, I guess they should have taken that "Keys to Safeguarding Privacy and Confidential Information" course before they submitted this to engadget…

Verizon's version of the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro will NOT be under-powered compared to the Sprint version.
I spoke directly with HTC and they indicated that someone from Sprint altered that Spec document to be in Sprint's favor and then leaked it.
Take it for what it is worth, but I don't see why he would have made that up.

I hope you're right, I'll never unserstand why they underclock certain pieces of hardware.
Does anyone have a link to how much memory the Touch Diamond will have?
IsaMororless @ Sep 26th 2008 4:08PM
I hope your right... cause ortherwise Verizon would suck it big time.
I wonder if the specs they ( Sprint supposedly) made up would not make sense in the tech...
you know like.. a pc with 25gb HD and 75mb Ram.
plus wouldn't both Verizon and HTC benefit in shooting this (supposedly) disinformation down.
thx to all who contribute & Engadget.
-from a lg EV Verizon customer who already waited 4 months for this.

Your opinion is as constructive and poignant as ever.

The question then becomes what about the Touch HD, will it ever show up in verizon, and when???. Maybe those of us wating for the verizon diamond will wait couple more months...

The HD does look mighty interesting, but I think I will like the small size of the Diamond. I've been surfing the web on my Q for some years now, so for my purposes, I don't really need the larger screen. But it IS awfully sexy. I travel a lot and usually to smaller towns in the U.S. Verizon has served me best in that so far. I also hope that the Diamond they finally do offer is not missing too many toys. I really want to play with the accelerometer, but it won't break the deal.
Thanks to all the gentle persons that make useful and polite comments here.
