HTC's US Touch Diamond now shipping from Best Buy
It's no shock to see a US 3G-enabled Touch Diamond showing up at Best Buy (unlike the hamstrung sibling over at CompUSA) -- though we can't say we were expecting the big box retailer to start shipping this soon. If its website is to be believed (read: don't book it just yet), the unlocked Touch Diamond 3G you're about to order for $699.99 will leave Best Buy's warehouse within one business day. If that's not cool with you, you can also pick it up "at most stores." Shame there's no white option listed...

I got mine from Best Buy a couple hours ago. I wasn't sure I'd like it and wanted the luxury of being able to return it to them if I didn't like it.

My thoughts exactly, might be a little more at Best Buy but it is nice being able to run into the store, pick it up, and return it (if need be) without a restocking fee. That being said, one person over at XDA was able to get BB to match Mobile City. I didn't - but I didn't try, either.

Is the back black? I went to best buy's website and there are no shots of the back. If it's black, then there is hope for me to replace the dumb red back on the sprint version!

I'd call it matte black. I'd be more descriptive but I already returned mine (I bought it at a local Best Buy last night.) I really wanted to keep it but the TF3D sluggishness was more than I could handle. Really loved the display . . .

It now says Backordered: Usually ships in 1 to 2 weeks.
And the "most stores" mentioned - I'm in the greater Dallas metro area. The 11 stores around me that I checked on the site all read "Unavailable".

Yeah, they are pretty lenient when saying "most stores". The only store I've seen (using their website) that has had the phone has been one of the two in my town. Same thing when they got the Dual - we had it right away. I don't know how we've been so fortunate here but I'm doing my part to make sure they keep 'em coming.
Now, the freezer I wanted they didn't have last month. I'll get over it as long as the keep the phones in town . . .

i wanted to buy from bestbuy as well because I can return it easily, however, with tax and shipping, its like $120 more than mobilecity. so i decided to go with mobilecity.

Luckily at my BB there are 2 in transit in the truck for Monday. No other stores in the district are getting any. How fortuitous for me!! Something to keep my time until the Bold comes out.
