HTC's Touch HD makes its video debut
We've already heard the good word about the HTC Touch HD's performance and general excellence, but if you're like us you want something more. Specifically, something on YouTube narrated in French. That's just how we roll. Nothing in this video (embedded after the break) we haven't heard before, but make sure to tap that "high quality" button to really taste the magic.

Is this coming to sprint? Or even the US this year?
Cellulararrest @ Sep 18th 2008 10:23AM
STILL no capacitive touch screen? HTC you NEED to jump on that.
gareth @ Sep 18th 2008 10:41AM
HA I was wondering the same thing. My French is rusty, can anyone verify no capacitive touchscreen?
All in all, Ive never seen Winmo looks better. I notice he didn't open the MAIL program though. It makes me think the whole think might snap back to the ugly original winmo skin.
(psst your Camera work could use some help)

@gareth:
It has a stylus, so that means no capacitive screen.
KJ82 @ Sep 18th 2008 10:29AM
Who will be the carrier for this phone? Any semi official news?
I hope Sprint gets this one, because if so, I'll just wait, instead of getting the Diamond.
ZEO2K @ Sep 18th 2008 10:56AM
This is ridiculous...I need HTC to stop teasing me, and let me know if they're going to make a CDMA version for Sprint as well! lol
kj82 @ Sep 18th 2008 11:20AM
On HTC's spec page http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=64796
it lists HSDPA and WCDMA as it's networks.

Ooooh, it looks sick!
Moves along pretty good between apps pretty smoothly too.
So now I have to decide on this or the Storm.
Not a bad choice to have to make either way if you ask me.

What I would like to see is a Touch HD Pro with slide out keyboard. And yeah a capacitive touch screen would be nice too, I've tried texting on the Touch Diamond and it is both frustrating and slow. Too slow for me to switch from my Treo even though I am desperately sick of its size and small screen.
CoolCheze @ Sep 18th 2008 11:45AM
This is why I hate being a phone buff or technologically obsessive compulsive......I just purchased the Samsung f480(tocco) the phone is Great it even has a capacitive touch screen but when i see the HTC Touch HD I want to sell my Tocco and get the HTC.
All I want to know is Price....and When can i get it...Answer me DAMN IT....(frothing from mouth)!!!!!!!!!!
gareth @ Sep 18th 2008 12:45PM
I'd be interested to learn if this is 3d accelerated, and if they solved Winmos obnoxious task manager problem.
kachra @ Sep 18th 2008 1:20PM
Battery life really concerns me
slamEVIL @ Sep 18th 2008 1:40PM
oh man! the touch hd owned the iphone! the omnia looks so small compared to it too. it's definitely coming down to either this and the omnia (mirage) for my next phone. i can put up with the smaller size of the mirage if it means i have to wait another for the touch hd to come to the US.
Ghengis @ Sep 18th 2008 2:46PM
man l love this phone. Also dont forget the iphone vs touch hd comparison. Its about time to get some competition.

This is a really nice phone. But what gets me is that people get excited about the iphone comparisons, and ooooh look how much better it is. When in reality it should be it costs what 2 or 3 hundred dollars more. This is actually kind of funny how all these phones are compared to the iphone but are significantly more expensive. But it does look pretty sweet though. Mike

Do you have an iphone? Because If you did, you would know that the only way to get it is sign up for a two year contract with mandatory data plan and a shitload of other extras which can work out to be in total more than double the prices of some "these phones" you are talking about.
Lithoss @ Sep 18th 2008 9:35PM
The iPhone would cost a hell of a lot more without a plan from AT&T, infact, ebay has them for around $600. And they've been out for a few months now. Give any HTC product a couple months and you can find them for probably around $600 as well without a plan.
This phone will be about $250-300 with a phone plan. Without mandatory, overpriced, sub-par AT&T data plan.
Oh, and ill be able to load any program I want on this phone, unlike the communist inspired Apple iPhone.
Michael Sumuel @ Sep 21st 2008 5:20PM
I'm not a big tech guy, so I have to ask: it is possible to use this phone on my current first gen iPhone data plan? I know it would have to be an unlocked phone but not sure if you can get the iPhone sim out and if it would work w/this phone.

Will someone have Endagadget update this. The youtube link is broken because the video was taken down.
