It's just not that great anymore. I have the N95-4 (8GB) and it's good, but the N96 doesn't seem worth it. The N96 almost seems more of a patch than an actual upgrade of a phone. I think I'll pass.

David

Comments on Nokia's N96 gets unboxed on video, looks exactly like you'd expect it to

Do You Honestly Think Nokia Even Flinches At the Sight of An Iphone?! Nokia = 40% global marketshare Apple = not even a blip. Nokia = a whole range of phones, Nseries, Eseries,..etc. Apple = 1 phone (hello apple?, were not all the same, but im sure you want us to be). Nokia/S60 = Open source OS, with great innovations Apple OSX = do it our way, because we said so....and because we have big herd of sheep. Nokia = Great quality phones and services, Apple = garbage. Apple wishes they could be Nokia, its their wet dream. Oh by the way, how are all those dropped calls, laggy applications, and cracked cheap plastic cases on your so called jesus phone. Get a real phone like the Nokia E71 or the N95 and you wont be trash talking Nokia.

ThisGuy

Comments on Nokia's N96 gets unboxed on video, looks exactly like you'd expect it to

I'm sorry, but what did your replies to my post have to with what I wrote? Seriously guys. I'm astounded at the flame wars that people start here. I made no mention of the iPhone or comparing it to any other phone other than it's predecessor, the N95-4. With that being said, My N95-4 is good but not great. It has it's faults, like any phone for that matter, but is it worth to purchase another expensive phone that, to me, is nothing more than a face lift?

Let me say this: the iPhone has great potential, but like any piece of electronic equipment, it needs time to mature. It's 2008 and who seriously still uses a 1.3mp camera? Why would you have an Exchange email account that blows away any other existing contacts you may have? My Nokia is not without faults too. The GPS/Nokia Maps is shoddy at best. Here in Boston anyway. It takes well over 15 minutes to get the moons and stars to align before I can get proper directions. The phone freezes constantly and the signing/unsigning of applications to install applications is beyond aggravating. You make do with what you have but the bitching and flaming is really getting out of control to the point where it's developing a Napoleon complex.

I digressed a bit. Sorry. Had to get that off my chest. Anyway, getting back to what I said, does anyone else see the N96 as nothing more than a very expensive face lift? What actual new features/hardware/software does it offer to warrant the purchase?

David
