AT&T to supplement Bold with BlackBerry Curve 8320
Who ever said the WiFi-laden BlackBerry Curve 8320 had to be a T-Mobile exclusive? AT&T certainly ain't hearing that, according to some colorful paperwork outed by Boy Genius Report, which should give BlackBerry upgraders and first-timers alike a less expensive alternative to the Bold when it launches stateside in the next handful of weeks (or so we all hope). Launch on this one is targeted for the last week of September, presumably replacing the 8300 dressed up in a rather conservative "sapphire blue" that should satisfy suits and personal users alike -- and we're willing to bet that a handful of current Curve owners are going to see the addition of WiFi as reason enough to take the plunge. There's no pricing on this one yet, but somewhere between $0 and the Bold's sticker is definitely a safe guess.

Before all the nerds tear the idea of a new 8320 launch to shreads, I think this will be a great addition to AT&T's lineup especially for enterprise customers.
I've deployed thousands of Curve's (mainly T-Mobile USA or Vodafone UK) to our staff worldwide instead of the 8800 series and they are well liked.
I like this color. It's professional and clean looking. WiFi, although not a 3G service, is great considering the current condition of AT&T's weak 3G footprint. We have several WiFi connections in our building that users can connect to if needed.

Hi Gary: I agree. The Curve is a great workhorse. I also work for a worldwide org and we all use Curve's (8320 T-Mobile version). Compared to other models we've rolled out, the Curve along with the Pearl series are among the most well liked. Great call quality, excellent email service, WiFi coupled with Global Access is a great combination for such a slim light device.

I'm currently with at&t and use the iPhone 3G. Their 3G network is terrible; the worst I've ever used especially coming from Verizon whose network is solid.
I want to try a BlackBerry and didn't like the Titanium color. I actually like this color and I'll definitely give it a shot. Everyone I know says that at&t's EDGE network is better than the 3G network because it's more mature. The only thing I'm afraid of is bad call quality which I experience on both EDGE and 3G (when I can get it) using the iPhone.
Oh well, at this point I'm willing to try anything since I'm not too happy with AT&T network here in Los Angeles, CA.

Andrew -
I use the Curve here in LA with AT&T and the call quality is a little muffled, but still usable. I'm a big BlackBerry fan and think their email solution is the best among them so I remain a faithful user (for now).
The only thing that bothers me about AT&T is that you drop calls a lot and for the money they charge you monthly you'd think the network would be top notch? LOL
Oh well, I'd definitely give this Berry a try if you are having issues with the 3G iPhone.

No GPS I assume... Hrm, what do I like more? That has been one big advantage of the 8310 has been the TBT GPS. I doubt the retail stores will be carrying both models either...

Yes, GPS!

Has anyone seen or heard an update on this with ATT? Delivery dates, pricing?

I've been calling AT&T for over a week, and no one I've talked to has a clue when the 8320 is coming out. The last operator I talked to asked me if I really meant Bold when I asked about the Curve 8320. Ugh!
Enough iPhone hype. Give us our new Curves! :)
