Sprint leaks XOHM WiMax service details and devices
A little URL hacking by Engadget fan Leo, has revealed Sprint's new My Xohm site and loads of service information. The site is clearly in a preparatory state with plenty of dead links and Latin dummy-text holding the pre-launch site format together. Nevertheless, there is quite a bit of detail here, some of which is certainly more than just idle filler. For example, based on the current text, we can expect the following at service launch in September:

- Nokia's N810 WiMAX Edition -- looks like a lock based on the liberal use of its image (above) across the pages.
- XOHM USB (ZTE's TU25) modem.
- XOHM Express Card (Samsung's SWC-E100) modem with optional PCMCIA adapter.
- XOHM Modem (ZyXel's MAX-206M2) Ethernet hub / router with optional 4-hour battery -- unfortunately, XOHM will not offer static IP addresses at this time.
- The XOHM portal (whatever that is) supports both Windows and OS X. However, the modems listed above and Sprint's XOHM Connection Manager software are PC-only, sorry Mac owners.

apple youngsters say wha? Sprint rolling the ball with 4G service, while they're just getting aquainted with 3G, I love having options, and i love having this prospectuful infrastructure thoughtfully laid out and implemented. Sprint 4G For The Win, the apple kids can have fun at the local starbucks :]

funny ending. but wimax is not actually considered 4g any more the IEEE committee changed its standards and is actually 3g now. and sprint has had 3g for a while nothing new for them, T-Mobile is the new kid on the block.

If you click the pricing and speed link and then look at the supported OSes, they refer to Mac OS 10.5 as Jaguar...
Nice.

It should be well noted that the Price link DOES NOT WORK as it requires you to sign in - but sign in with what?
Seems like Engadget needs to get on the ball and post ALL information rather then just some .....

Engadget cant post information they don't have. And since you probably went to the site at around 10:56am they seem to have been blocking of more and more of the site like the FAQ. Go to my evernote note to see all the FAQ, if you haven't already

I don't hate Sprint, I just Sero was a standard plan.
Let's face it.... if a career would offer a standard $30 month unlimited everything plan they would OWN everyone...

I'm as much a Sprint hater as everyone else, but nothing get's me more excited than ubiquitous, broadband speed wireless connections everywhere you go.
Same reason I'm rooting for White Spaces and same reason I actually think Xohm will be a solid competitor to LTE. The thing that sucks is that Wifi is Wifi.... it's the wireless broadband standard right now. In the next few years, it won't be that simple at a time when people will really be looking to network more than just a few laptops. Mobile phones, TV's, computers, home security systems, (your PS3/XBOX) will all be interoperable... the problem?? Too many solutions to ubiquitous, broadband speed wireless connections.
Prediction: We see a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD type battle for standardization of wireless broadband in 2010. LTE (Verizon/AT&T) or Xohm (Sprint, Comcast, Time Warner) or Wifi 2.0/"White Spaces" (Google, Dell, HP)?
The future is so confusing. I miss my Nokia dumbphone.

Sprint's Barry West confirmed some of these details in an interview last week with us at Sidecut Reports. We'll have an expanded version of the Q&A later this week.
