HTC's Dream a super skinny QWERTY bananaphone?
Yesterday we got the height and width, today it's the full wireframe model with scale measurements. While we can't confirm the authenticity, several details including that arcing base certainly dovetail nicely with the images found in the original FCC filing. It's also a near-perfect match to that early reference design seen kicking around the Googleplex courtesy of Andy Rubin. While not obvious before, we can clearly see that the arc belongs to the handset's rigid, non-sliding "chin" with lots of logos from HTC, T-Mobile, and Google fighting for visibility.
Notably, the right-most image contains measurements which can be applied to the rest of scale model as well. This confirms the 115 x 55-mm height and width shown by the FCC yesterday as well as a new, approximate, 16.35-mm depth after applying the calipers. That would make it fatter (as expected) than the 12.3-mm iPhone but skinnier (and a hair wider) than the 18.1-mm HTC Touch Pro and 17-mm Xperia X1. Not bad. Now let's get to it boys, else there won't be much left to announce in September.

I seriously can't wait for the end of this year. I've been with T-Mo for about 3 years now and this'll be a nice upgrade from my Wing. Bridges the gap between sidekick and smartphone I think. Has all the nice features of a high (well high for us over here without LG and Apple) end smartphone and more of a slick form and more "fun" than windows mobile. Please please don't ruin this T-Mobile....I will be crushed.......
P.S. I hope T-Moible doesn't jack up there data plan prices too much. And if they do, let's hope that Google's little ads you can opt for aren't horribly annoying and have enough of a price cut to make them something other than a subtle move in Google's bid for world domination.
And let's not have this spammed by Apple Fan Boys yes? Every post I see about this phone always has some knuckle-head who says something like, "iPhone pwn3d all. Tmo sucks and anyone who uses it should switch cause no one good as iPhone." Let's be civil.
Thank you and good night

If you want Android Info without the "Apple Fanboys" hating on every word you should hit up some of the Android Forums around.
Most notably:
http://androidforums.com
http://mobileroar.com/forum/htc-dream
http://phandroid.com
Not to mention AndroidGuys and AndroidCommunity which are already pointed out in the post. But yeah... T-Mobile fans have to be ELATED.
I'm still wondering... will it be HTC Dream or T-Mobile G1?

Will the Dream have TV-Out?

It's all about the chin!!
This is a mobile first, and a web browser second (or the other way round) - turn the device 90 degrees, tilted roller ball - fits nicely on the thumb and you're off - no dirty marks on the screen - see blog post - http://bit.ly/W6rTX
PS great for gaming?
PPS the logo on the back - let me suggest Google pay HTC $50 a handset for the PR - direct subsidy to get the google phone in the market cheap.

that chin makes it look like typing could be precarious.

Anybody else notice that "crescent moon" slide channel in the right-most picture? Know what that means? Mechanically it will slide open with your thumb with a curving motion. This in contrast to most slide-out QWERTY's with a linear action. Should be very nice!

Oooo nice spot. Can't wait to see how that pans out (no pun intended.)

I believe that this won't swing in an arching motion. I think the desighn of the arc is to give tention to some sort of spring that holds the screen open and shut. I may be wrong but I can't imagine that it would actualy arch while it opened.

I hope those specs are real. Except for that awful Sidekick-like keyboard. Touchscreen?
