Verizon nabs the Blitz: someone has thought of the children
This one has been in the works for a while, but Verizon has appropriated UTStarcom's TXT8010 my-first-QWERTY phone for tweens and dropped it onto an unsuspecting market with the new "Blitz" moniker. The slider phone will run you $70 with a two year contract, is available now, and includes a few perks like VCAST Music, a microSD slot, 1.3 megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth to keep your jaded child interested.

Qualified Yay!
I've been looking at this since it was pre-paid. I just want a super cheap QWERTY phone that I can pay full retail for as a go between for my dying flip and the BB that I'm going to buy...

What is with the uncentered screen - ewwww. And this is as fat as a 1992 Gameboy...

I actually saw this today and it's adorable. The screen is off center though and there's a vertical line of text saying "slide to open". You'd think it would just be a sticker... Why would you need a constant reminder?
The keyboard is great, with ridges in between each button. It's strange looling when closed, as it's wider than of is tall, but it fits well in the hand.
