XPERIA X1 to come in black only?
We're hoping beyond hope that Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 is actually nearing a launch date, but astute reader Kingsley just pointed out to us that SE's US web site no longer lists silver as an available color choice, only Solid Black. That's notable only because we've only mostly seen silver editions of the X1 until now, but a limited color palette's not going to stop us from snapping this one up as soon as it hits -- what about you?

I really dig this phone. Just wish that it was thin. Not thin-er, cause that would inply that it was raising the bar for innovation of design.
Oh well, I think this will be a really good competition for the Touch Pro (or whatever Sprint wants to call it). I'd like to see wich one takes more of the market.

I guess spell check is like Hind-sight. Always 20-20. Why can't my computer take after the iPhone and auto-correct my spelling even if I miss a key?

Because god wants people to learn to spell correctly.

Odd... my firefox helps me correct my spelling... ah the wonders of technology?

I think at this point I am leaning towards the Touch Pro/Raphael- that's if Verizon decides to release it before a newer HTC model is available on Sprint or Att&t.

Is that T-Mobile's 3G (AWS) I spy as one of the supported UMTS frequencies? Oooooh, shiny!
oakie @ Aug 22nd 2008 8:47PM
i noticed that too and began to furiously masturbate over that.
bogus83 @ Aug 22nd 2008 4:56PM
No biggie, I wanted mine in black anyway.

Oh yeah this confirms that the long overdue rollout of 3G Data for T-Mobile is near. It sucks that it took so long but better late than never.
Dahk @ Aug 22nd 2008 10:17PM
Lol never even knew it was gonna come in any other colour. Black owns everything else anyway =P.

The best phones in my fairly large collection have been SEs - including my 637and, more so, my P910a. So I was all over this phone when it was announced. Now, I'm not so sure....I like the fact that the screen on the Touch Pro ("Fuze?") is totally flush. I am tired of vacuuming pocket lint out from under the screen bezel.
On the other hand, that 3.5mm plug is attractive - especially if it supports a microphone.
Lucky for me, there is a Sony Store very close - so I'll get to seriously put hands onto the X1 before I make my decision.

Of course, goodness only knows what ATT might due to screw the sleek blackness that is the Touch Pro.

.....if you guys look in the pictures section for the x1 you will see it in the silver color scheme.....I don't see it being a huge deal on Sony's end of coloring the phone......they have many phones with multiple color options.... I have been waiting on this phone for a while I just don't know if the price is going to be in the price range that I am looking within....a.k.a. 500+......after all I could pick up the 8gig iphone in sexy black for two bills......not bad IMHO....as far as storage...there is Pandora and Orb that will allow you to access all of your music and videos..... does seem like a major contender though....
Armani @ Aug 24th 2008 11:40AM
Yeah, hopefully the price sin;t too high, but it is a Sony. I'm hoping for $299 with a two year on T-Mobile. That seems like a logical fit.
