The BlackBerry Bold gets official on Rogers
Sure, we've seen John Mayer's, done a hands-on, read reviews, gotten release dates and even listened to the painful Stewart Copeland-provided soundtrack, but today's the BlackBerry Bold's big coming out party on Rogers, and it can be all yours for just CA$399 plus a 3 year voice / data service plan totalling more than CA$45 a month. We should be seeing more countries come online later this week -- anyone taking the plunge?

3 freaking years? That's almost as big a commitment as marriage is. At least I could always upgrade the old lady when/if I wanted.

after a year you can upgrade the phone, and you can change the plan anytime you want.
hopefully my store will get it somewhat soon, so I can play around with it.

rogers restarts ur contract when u change ur rate plan
they are ripping people off 400$ for this piece of crap
the touch diamond is superior in every way and its only 149$ on a 3 year contract. aside from the keyboard what does the bold have that diamond doesnt?

I plan on getting one as my first Blackberry to complement my iPhone. I figure the iPhone is great for personal stuff but for business things such as e-mail and documents the Blackberry seems better suited to the task. Plus on a family plan with ATT it shouldn't cost me more than about 50 bucks a month to add it.

Shame on Rogers! BB Bold was released much earlier by T-Mobile in Germany! They even have an option to buy it without a contract, for the full price.
As to blackberry generally, I wish there were more freeware apps for Bold.
http://www.blackberryfreeware.org/ is a good start but we need more cool apps, which use GPS, WiFi etc!

i so want a bold on att network i decided my next phone will be a blackberry and 3g seeing as i just got it at my house as of friday is the way to go so i don't know what the price of the bold will b on att but if i were to get a curve today i would b saving $400 by staying with att instead of going to verizon. that like 4 months worth of gas for my car. so i will b staying with att and getting a blackberry in april of 09 when my contract up.
