The iPhone 3G hits
20 more countries tomorrow, and while we doubt the hype will match the
craziness of
launch day, that's not stopping Orange from trying to re-create the madness in Poland -- it's hiring "dozens" of actors to line up at 20 stores around the country to "drum up interest." Yeah, that's just sad -- especially since there aren't any real customers in line at Polish T-Mobile stores, which is also carrying the phone. Good luck selling phones to your own actors, fools -- when will these companies ever learn?
PS.- That's a pic from launch day in Chicago -- any Polish readers have a shot of the actors for us? Send 'em in!
Update: Yep, there they are, from
appleblog.pl -- and check a video after the break from
Gazeta.

Well... there are no lines and probably there won't be. Plans are relatively pricey and there are no unlimited data plans - max is 800min/2400txt/5gigs for ~$160 in T-Mobile. But we dont really pay that much for private plans... and I doubt business users will be interested in it.
Also, while signing 2-year contract for the cheapest plan, 8G iphone costs ~$330.
That's just not going to work.
And you can have it for ~$900 in Orange prepaid. :>

This proves to what extent the iphone sucks... you have to pay people to line up to buy the shit ROFL, also this is EU, most notable place for the most awesome iphone, see how much USA ppl knows about mobile phone? You know squat, with ur iphone and this and that crap, I love this site, awesome job :D

hmm i guess no one thought that maybe the polish are smart enough to know that they don't need to line up for the iphone. they can just stroll in at any time and get one.

So imagine there's ONE legitimate buyer in line.
Doors Open.
21 people inside the store.
20 people watching.
1 buying.
Awkward.
BlissX @ Aug 22nd 2008 1:07AM
Change 21 to 13 and 20 to 12.
I misread 20 stores as 20 shills.

Can you blame people for not lining up for the fricken' iPhone? Yes, it's fashion item, yes, for us celltech deprived Americas users the iPhone must be great, but for Europe, it's just another phone, just with way too much hype.
Can I get a CDMA Touch Pro tout de suite please?
Thank you!
Tommy

that was wrong translating from polish language about actors - its says that people who is in the line are actually selling their spots in that line so they can make some money without buying iPhone which is sucks anyway. HTC, Samsung and LG is ruling around the world (not counting USA because of 800MHz - all normal world using 900Mhz)
