Nokia to early N96 buyers: no phone yet, so here's a headset
Here's a little Espoo humor for you: offer a crazy-expensive limited edition of the N96, make buyers think they'll be getting it early, and when they don't, ship them stereo Bluetooth headphones as a consolation prize which -- wait for it -- you need a phone (like that unshipped N96, for example) to use. Whatever, we suppose it's better than getting a cold shoulder, but the silver BH-503s getting shipped to at least some of the Face The Task buyers sure aren't a substitute for the real deal.

Plus these headphones are the same crappy design that every hack company out there's been pushing for 2-3 years.
I'd rather them just do like Lenovo when they had the crazy low price on SSDs- just say "sorry" & give a discount.

Not bad I guess. Although it would definetly wind me up if I shelled out a grand for a N96 only to have a sorry note with these headphones attached as "consolation".
Still, you make do with what you get I guess. As much as I love Nokia (owned the original N95 for 1 1/2 years and counting), I think apple's release has made everyone else rush out with their products. Every half decent product in competition is buggy as hell nowdays (including the iPhone 3g).
The HTC diamond and touch pro are still buggy and the diamond is prone to lags and the occasional freezing, Bold is taking FOREVER to get here, the verdict on the Omnia is still out, and the N96 is a pointless upgrade for N95 users.
So Nokia, TAKE YOUR TIME! But do what you do best, and release the best phone on the market as of yet..but release it when your ready.

I've been considering picking up a pair of the 604's. This review

makes them look pretty solid but I wanted to try em out first. Then I remembered that Nokia has that store in Chicago (where I live) so I'm off to check 'em out! Chicago rules!

Nice of them, better than leaving everyone waiting.
