Rogers' Q3 lineup revealed?
Dealer documentation seemingly intended for Rogers dealers has, of course, leaked out onto the interwebs, possibly revealing the entirety of the carrier's third quarter offerings. With the exception of the Bold and KickStart / Pearl 8220, there's nothing terribly mind-blowing in the mix, though the lineup does include a pretty healthy range of goodies from the low end to the reasonably high. Highlights include the Sony Ericsson W350a music flip, a phone we've already seen meandering about in AT&T livery, so it comes as little surprise that we'd see it up north as well; the iPAQ 910c Windows Mobile smartphone from HP; and a refreshed RAZR 2 that'll probably mirror the V9x. All of these chewy technological morsels launch (in theory, anyway) by the end of September, which really only serves to makes us wonder: what's on tap up there for the holiday season?

DO NOT BELIEVE THIS! ITS COMPLETELY FAKE!
1.) The BlackBerry 8700 pictured isn't even the same color as the Rogers model!!! That is the 8700c for Cingular (at the time). We got the 8700r which was all black. You really thing Rogers wouldn't put their own nicely branded model on their planogram sheets!!! Strike one!
2.) They have the 8220 named the kickstart, and we all know that is only a codename.
3.) Look at the LG Shine in the photo. It is not the TU720 model carried by Rogers. That one we have has a small joystick button. That one has the european scroll.
4.) There are no Rogers perfect fonts. That is a big way to check people! Rogers always has their nice little fonts and that looks cheaply done through photoshop.
5.) Rogers does not make big documents with just pictures of all their devices. They release individual notes for new phones, but not a huge color document. Someone is just piecing together existing news, and making up this document with the info, and calling it real.
6.) Rogers is NOT getting the 8310 people! Stop photoshopping it or asking. Their UMA berrys are the 8820, 8120 and the soon to be 8220. The Bold might be UMA down the line later on.
7.) Look at the "V3" in the photo. If you search any website like GSM Arena or Phone Arena, you will see that is a picture of the EUROPEAN ONLY V3x. We are not getting a phone that is two years old already and not to our specs. The RAZR2 sucks enough as it is.
This image is filled with so much bulls*** that if you dried it out you could fertilize Ted Rogers garden!
I'M A CORPORATE ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE FOR ROGERS, I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT!!!
DON'T BE FOOLED!

Word-for-word your post on HoFo eh?
Ian K @ Aug 11th 2008 2:57AM
No, I did modify it a bit, just like the guy who made the picture. Either way, the proof is right there in front of you.
I have multiple points on there that are 100% errors that Rogers themselves would never release. Anyone who looks at the image for more than three seconds will see what I'm sayin!
P.S., The LG ME970d Shine is the model shown in that pic.

Ian,
Do you know if Rogers is going to release the HTC Touch Pro in Q3 or Q4? I don't need a precise date; just some hope...
Ian K @ Aug 11th 2008 5:13AM
To be honest, I don't know much detail about HTC launches, but if I was a betting man I'd put good money on a variant of the Touch Diamond/Pro getting its way to Rogers before christmas. From what I've seen, the TyTn II probably got delayed into an early submission before it was even released.
If you want Win Mo, the XPERIA will hit Canadian shelves as will a new Palm before years end. Rogers does a good job at getting the modern phones now. Chances are if it has a UMTS 850/1900 bandwith receiver, it very well would hit Rogers shelves.
jacubious @ Aug 11th 2008 9:42AM
Ohhh, thats good news about the x1. The Pro would be nice too. I would be really happy if those were added to the "Talkspot" line-up as they have wifi.
Hopefully we will get news sooner than later.

The LG shine having UMA capabilities sounds pretty fishy too.
Tired_ @ Aug 11th 2008 4:21PM
Who cares? Rogers' toss-us-a-bone data plan offer expires at the end of the month, and then they go back to being an overpriced carrier with bad service.
Ian K @ Aug 11th 2008 5:39PM
Then just add that data plan now while its a steal of a deal?! I did that in anticipation for the Bold's release to make sure I got the best deal.
In regards to the comment made by "jacuibous", I doubt you will see UMA capabilities on any Windows Mobile phones for now, including the X1 & HTC's. Most of those models are listed as UMA ready if they are, which there is no mention of on the phone database websites.
