Bell first out of the gate with CDMA Touch Dual
That CDMA version of HTC's Touch Dual that some FCC lab got to fiddle around with a while back is now packaged up all nice and pretty for cash-flush consumers to enjoy. It's not Verizon, Sprint, or Alltel that's celebrating the release, though -- for this particular release, you've gotta look north just a little bit to Bell Mobility. The phone features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, GPS, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a $399.95 CAD off-contact price that drops all the way down to $99.95 if you're willing to sign your life away for three years. Our knee-jerk reaction is, "we'll just hold out for the Diamond on Telus," but if you insist on a slider with this kind of form factor, it's the only way to fly.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz
Another run of the mill WinMo phone - yay!

I gotta admit, I do kind of like the Touch Dual's form factor.

Dunno... I generally like my Sprint Touch... but it's the phone functions via the touchscreen that drive me nuts! I'd seriously consider upgrading to one of these... or better still, a CDMA Nokia with this form factor and a 3.5'" screen , if they ever made one.
For me, the qwerty keyboard just isn't worth the additional bulk.
I used to be so adamant about running WinMo to compliment my Exchange service... but in light of how well the iPhone and iP 3G performed in just their first outing, 6.1 really now seems to me to be an overcomplicated, basically slow, clunky, OS that should be significantly better than it really is.
As a carrier, ATT is still brutal in L.A. though, so I won't be going there any time soon...
Perhaps Android...?

Brutal? Whenever I am there, I never seem to have any troubles in LA or the whole Southern California area, and I'm on At&t, I seem to get all around 3G service on my V3xx.

Weird. As with Striker, I have no problems with network coverage in socal on AT&T. 5 bars anywhere I go.
T-Mobile on the other hand constantly went to emergency only, and the staff refused to help or even check if it was a sim card problem. No way I'm supporting T-Mobile in pan america any time soon.

Bully for you. Daliy conversations with my girlfriend who remains on that carrier, as well as my former patronage of same, suggest otherwise.

GRRRRR! I HATE Bell...
My Razr crapped out on me at the beginning of April while I was on vacation. Visited a Bell store and got a Touch (NOT "Dual"), which is OK, but I would have much preferred either the Dual, or even better, an Instinct. But now that I've upgraded, I'm looking at at LEAST a year...
