WinMo has its place. I switched from the AT&T Tilt to the iPhone and there are a few things (like.. MMS... repeating calendar alarms, video.. turn-by-turn nav) that I really miss. :-\
Ive really grown accustomed to windows mobile. I seriously have troubles dealing with standard phones nowadays.
I have a HTC kaiser and there really is nothing to using it, people seem to have difficulty noticing that most behaviors are like normal phones. presing the phone button brings up the phone, pressing the end button brings you to the home screen, and pressing the message button or the message dialog on the screen takes you to messages. Ive never read the manual to the phone and i know the ins and outs of practically everything.
But the thing i like about windows mobile is the UI is customizable, more so than an iPhone. i can run standard windows mobile today screen widgets, the HTC home widget or even something as elaborate as SPB Mobile shell.
If you don't like windows mobile you can change it :)
oh definitely, everyone should have the exact same thing, because everyone has the same needs, thinking patterns and habits that are easy to cater for.
Why are you comparing the iPhone, which has no VoIP at all in a Windows Mobile article about Skype anyway?
My HTC Touch is sexy inside and out, has way faster internet than anything ATT, much smaller than the iPhone, and it runs tomtom nav, office mobile 2007, live search, SprintTV, opera, skyfire (who needs an external you tube player?), core player (any codec you need), a wonderful built-in email, calendar and contact program called -outlook mobile- (iPhone's sucks hard!! thankfully there are some after market alternitives), oh and it -easily- syncs to my PC and remote exchange server, and without any iTunes or any such media player needed. Why should one ever use a media player to sync mail and contacts. ActiveSync syncs my media files just fine without using WMP. Wait why would I buy a phone that I can't even remove the battery from? I feel sorry for my colleagues that have iPhones, they drool over my touch daily.

omg. It hurts to look at that UI.
Do people honestly still use winmo?
I'm not promoting iPhone, but winno and palm suck.

You should always be ABLE to change it! Otherwise it's just another brick in your hand.

I almost forgot... the most important app MS Voice Command. Just tell you phone what to do and it goes to work.
