Motorola i776 bundles countless design nightmares into one convenient package
Yeah, we just went back and triple-checked our personal wishlist for Motorola's road to profitability, and "produce a fat RAZR clone with a stub antenna and few random splotches of burgundy" definitely isn't on there. This Motorola i776 looks destined for the iDEN airwaves of the world, presumably finding a home on Nextel and Boost in the States -- but with the monstrous Frankenstein styling, we're wondering if it'll go on to find a home in anyone's belt holster. Cheap company-issue unit, perhaps?

It is not that bad looking at all. Engadget needs to be more positive when it comes to Motorola. Engadget favors Apple all day everyday. This phone is an average looking phone with a color twist. I mean it's one of the better looking iDEN's I have seen.

I honestly don't think it looks bad at all. Well, that damn antenna needs to go, but besides that, it's not bad.
I just don't understand why all their devices look the same. This looks like the lovechild of an i885 and a v325. And why can't they make a QWERTY iden phone. I think an iDen Moto Q is what they need.

Engadget Mobile really sucks..I dont like their stories and especially their antagonism against Motorola. Engadget should definitely mind their language.
Also, they are just copy pasting their stories from other sources and trying to act smart. Shut-up guys.

I'm sorry...but this phone woulda been borderline fugly even in 2006. That antenna is gross. And I was a Nextel fanboy for quite sometime.

what the hell are you guys talking about? chris is right on with this one! that thing single handedly brings back the word fugly from the 90s.
fugly random color mismatching, antenna stub!?!??!, screen in an awkward place, the M logo getting center stage on the outside, and im definitely no expert at all when it comes to fcc pics but please tell me that thin stick near the antenna is just moto's way of pointing at something and isnt a pull out antenna!
now i will say i actually do like the white keypad design and layout. but that doesnt save the phone. not by a long shot. when someone sees your phone theyre not gonna go "awesome keypad man!" theyre gonna be like "is that burgundy, silver, and an antenna!? how long have u had that thing man? what, thats new!? you just bought that!? really!? check out my new Zest, dude!"

Who decided now was the time to introduce a new iDEN screen resolution (128x160)? Probably the same person that thought 130x130 was a good idea...
