Skyfire for Symbian now in beta

While Skyfire continues to promise big things on the Windows Mobile front -- a front that needs as many high-quality browsers as it can get -- there's another beta getting underway at the company for a S60 version of its Flash-enabled web viewer. Like Opera Mini and Deepfish, Skyfire renders content server-side -- and in addition to Flash, it's packing support for Quicktime, Windows Media, Silverlight, and AJAX, so it should serve up a pretty PC-like experience. Unfortunately, that's an experience that only a select few in the private beta can enjoy at the moment, but Skyfire's now taking signups for Beta 2, so get in (or at least try to) while the gettin's good.

I have skyfire it works great my only complaints are its a battery hog the text input kinda sucks no save as feature and takes forever to load the web is great it does try to play videos to soon and gets stuck other than that it is a great browser they will fix it in time

yes, im wise enough to realize thats stuff has been created for my generation.

i love mms, but its not for business, you think business's want people sending pics to eachother? naw, e-mail is the way to go.
steve jobs isnt dumb, he's one of the greatest entrepreneurs in the history of the world, he knows what hes doing and thats why his products have hit success. i love microsoft windows, but you think they will dominate for long? nope, i say apple and linux will own within 10 years. you think winmo is the best phone OS ? thats good for you, i wont put you down for it, but you have to realize your not getting the best product.

yes mms would be nice... but cmon, its not necessary. and obviously people aren't caring too much since people are still lining up all over the world, a MONTH after its release.. thats a first i believe. Plus, apple is adding 22 more countries on the 22nd of august, more lines, more sales.

im not gonna say that iphone is the only choice... but for the average consumer, its the best. i dont yet own one, but my ipod touch is the best dam product ive ever bought, better than my dell E520(W/ Vista)

I love it, i cant wait to see how apple revolutionizes in the future :)

Really? 8 years ago you owned a phone that had 3G, a 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash that shoots video, has stereo bluetooth, and a flash/ajax/windows media/silverlight/ajax-enabled web browser? Interesting, because currently the only thing on that list the iPhone currently has is 3G. But maybe 8 years FROM NOW it'll have those other features.

These are the fanboys that make other Apple lovers look bad. I dont really get this hate towards Nokia. Apple and Nokia are 2 companies that have least in common from the mobile phone manufacturers. First Nokia dosent exist in USA(thought market share rised in USA in q2) where Apple sells, second is that Nokia gets major part of profits and market share by selling cheapo phones in emerging markets as it have smoked competition out and currently pretty much controls example India and Chinese market. Plus Nokia havent even made TS phone for 2 year. Smart phones that sell for Nokia are phones like E71(that's the newest hit)and feature packed phones like N95 8GB and N series candybars, these phones just dont have much of a common compared to iphone.
Iphone isnt for the mass market when Nokia is all about it. Who knows even how much will mid phone like 5800 sell with Nokia brand on it, available with cheaper price and the normal copy paste, 3.2 and so on sell in Asia and Europe even as most probally Iphone will be better with the TS part, but many of the buyers might not go for this wierd Apple and go for safe SE or Nokia.

i have Skyfire currently on an winmo device over 3g network.. it Awesome!!.. This thing smokin Fast!. Videos.Music.. ALL sites that have sound will Play!.. streaming vids while still reading text in articleq. in fact in using it right now while surfing an streaming a radio station half way roun the U.S.. 3g and Skyfire wonderful Marriage.. I also have the beta for my symbian device... havnt tested it yet. sure to let u kno how it goes.. xcited to see it on such a large scree device of an E62. Skyfire Rocks!!!!!!!!!!

yea mms is a kids feature just like cut and paste stereo bluetooth video recording cam flash camera options real 3g not crappy at&t 3g made worse by apple turn by turn nav ota music download streaming radio and video live tv instant message corporate email the one they have now sucks am i missing anything oh yea replaceable battery... the iphone is great but its better than other phones just better for you fan boy

skyfire is ridiculous sometimes it freezes or the server will be down for a few mins but thats rare this is hands down the best mobile browser safari and opera arent there yet

I too am a registered beta tester for WinMo. Bummer is you really can't register for both platforms the way the online form is designed. Yes, you can use a different e-mail address, but if you use the same phone number (as I do, thanks to GSM), you're screwed. I already posted in their forums. Hopefully, they will create some sort of workaround.

There is a work around bud.. login.(Skyfire) click on my profile.. have ur device ur switching it to powered up with sim card in. click on switch device and hit update. Ur done.

hey people,some guy from one of the symbian forums wrote that skyfire kinda works even outside the US i got the browser but cant try it coz of the EMAIL and password(yeah!)which i dont have coz i dont got a US phone number so if any of u who have tried it wont mind helping me get through that obstacle i would be greatful email n password................my address is mansabel_0@yahoo.com...am from spain FYI!

I have succesfully hacked skyfire well not exactly hacked. It is quite simple actiolly. All you need is an us mobile phone number and an e-mail you don't need the sms the number is the pass. I will post a program that gives you those directly.
O and I am writing from skyfire. It is realy nice. How i figured that out siple this was only for americans. This means that it is something stupid. Then it hit me that the number must be the password. It took me 5 mins to get a random us mobile phone number to use and you have it.
