Samsung i760, now with more Windows Mobile 6.1
Sweet, another impenetrable fortress of planned obsolescence falls to Windows Mobile 6.1's ever-advancing forces. Grab the update now, in Windows 2000 / XP and Vista flavors -- but be warned, we hear it doesn't do anything to fix the i760's weird-ass styling.

allready updated mine, and it f-ing rocks.
apps that still work after the update:
opera 9.5 beta
live search
htc home plug-in
point UI
the threaded sms is awesome, i wish it was a little closer to the palm version, like a little more polished, but it gets the job done.
oddly enough, i did not have to install the SDHC driver for my i760 to read my 4gb card...
my motorola s9 stereo BT headset works just like it used to,
all in all, im impressed so far.

I loved that phone, if it werent for the awkward ass send and End buttons I would have kept it.
Good for Verizon for getting that update out there. I am thoroughly surprised this happened this year.

I was looking forward to a better threaded sms experience. It's just hard to tell especially in a low bar area (my home) if the message was sent. It usually spits back a "message can not be sent" box. But then I have the recipient respond to the message.

How do I go about getting this update? When I go into Windows Update on my phone it says none found.
Thanks

You can even call it styling? With those send end buttons? Wow...
The Titan/XV6800 is supposed to get an update with a couple weeks according to XDA devs.

I just upgraded my i760 to WM 6.1, but I do not have the sliding panels today screen....is there something else I need to load?

Does upgrading to v6.1 wipe out anything you already have installed or contact lists on the phone?
