HTC Victor gets de-glitzed, unboxed

We actually rather like the Tumbler-like stealth rear surface of the HTC Touch Diamond, but if you're trying to roll a little more Wayne, a more straightlaced edition dubbed "Victor" announced back in May with a flat rear end is now shipping. Apart from that it doesn't look like there's anything new going on here, so we'll see if any Stateside carriers offer this version any time soon.

yeah I'm thinking the code name victor is just to reference the difference from the gsm version... you might note that the unboxing has diamond writen all over it.

Thank god. The back of the other version is the corniest and ugliest thing done to a handset in a long time.

Not even close, remember the N Gage QD that is the corniest and ugliest device ever. the back adds a certain mystique to the phone. but after weeks of it laying on a counter and sliding around and going in and out of a pocket. Those points get worn down and are no longer glossy.

if you want a diamond that has a angled shape but a clean back go for the o² version
i got my touch diamond for 425€ instead of 520€ without any contract just for buyin the o² version. and the best is you get a pouch for free which is not included in the original version. and btw unbranding is no work at all it doesn't even require to flash your device so there is no way of bricking it in the process
