Sony Ericsson's T610-ish Remi in the wild
Like virtually all other Sony Ericsson hardware (sorry, Sony Ericsson, but it's true), the Remi is getting a full pictorial ahead of a presumed official announcement in the coming weeks or months. Pegged as a spiritual successor to the wildly popular T610 by fans, Remi (whose real model number hasn't been deduced yet) should end up essentially being a W890 in slightly tamer clothing. Thin, fast, and pretty -- sounds about right for a T610 descendent, assuming the boys and girls in London can deliver.

People liked the T610? It was junk!

Junk? It was a great basic colour phone for its time (circa 2003).

It was a pretty high end feature phone at the time! (and not too expensive either)
not to mention that it was fully hackable with a $10 service dongle off of eBay. I had all kinds of games and 3rd party software on mine. (Opera!)
If you don't like the T610 you obviously never had one (or didn't know what to do with it!), anyone who had one knows!
It was a truly great phone and nearly indestructable so far as I experienced (dropped down several flights of concrete stairs, fell out of my car window once while going 40mph, very few minor scratches an NO degradation of performance!).
T610 FTRW! (for the retro win!)

sorry, the t650 is better than that in every way (appearance-wise). not to mention it looks more like the t610 than this thing.

I think this is Sony's way of stating the obvious "We're out of ideas"
superhobo @ Jul 16th 2008 8:01AM
Then Apple is already out of ideas...?
dbutters @ Jul 16th 2008 10:55AM
Apple never had ideas for mobile phones. Nothing original except the marketing campaign, which was top notch.
euclid @ Jul 16th 2008 10:59AM
apple never do anything original. They stick to their gameplan which is to build an Apple-centric universe. To their credit they DO let you choose between brushed aluminum and white. So its not all bad...

True, true...

I'm still using my T610 from T-Mobile going on 4+ years now. Holding out for a mobile(not Windows Mobile) that supports my Rhapsody music subscription service that I've listened to constantly for years. Seriously, I haven't gotten up from my PC and Rhapsody since 2004, my girlfriend brings me my meals. Maybe an Android device will be my answer.
