Palm's Treo 800w now available online from Sprint
We're not sure if you check most mobile provider's sites every ten minutes or so (like we do), but if you did, you would have noticed that the latest Palm Windows Mobile device -- the Treo 800w -- is available for purchase at Sprint's online store. The phone, which features a 320 x 320 screen, EV-DO Rev. A, WiFi, and GPS, is currently listing for $249.99 after a $250 instant savings, $100 mail-in rebate, and two-year contract. So if you've been absolutely, positively dying to get your hands on this thing -- now's your chance.

Just wondering...does this thing sport a touchscreen? I have seen some commercials with Palms but I don't know if they were showing this phone.
My dad is interested in getting a smartphone of sorts...so this might be something he would like.

Yep, like nearly every phone in the Treo line, minus the 500, the 800w sports a touchscreen.

All Palms have touchscreens except the 500v, which is available only outside USA.

can i put this on my current SERO plan?
Chris Littmann @ Jul 13th 2008 3:08PM
I was able to add the Treo 800w to my SERO plan. They wanted me to add a data pack to get the mail-in rebate, but I obviously passed on that.

I have and love the world out of this device. Very slick and POWRFUL.....AJ! Your dad will love this for sure.

Chris, how did you get it added to your SERO plan? Were you eligible for an update? Why would they ask you to add a data package when SERO comes with unlimited data?
thanks
Angelo
Jerry Marcus @ Jul 13th 2008 10:32PM
AJ, No more SERO Plans. They have SERO Unlimited and you have to now have the employee email address and the last for digits of the employee ID.

Why not just pick up the centro, it looks almost exactly the same, might even be better in certain ways.
Mickey @ Jul 13th 2008 11:59PM
This thing has the Centro beat featurewise in almost every way. The speed, the apps, the screen resolution, and the best Palm keyboard ever (IMO). The areas where it lags are battery life and the number of button presses you need to get to an app. But that's Windows.

this just another palm like the others not a big difference
in my opinion i wiold buy the centro instead of wasting my money on the 800 but i got boring from the treo almost the same thing same looks
am happy now with my blackberry pearl now thats a smart phone
