Sony Ericsson W595 spied?
The W580 is one of Sony Ericsson's more popular handsets for three very simple reasons: it's cheap, it's reasonably sharp-looking, and it knows its way around a playlist. Problem is, it's getting a little long in the tooth -- and that might just be where this rumored W595 (codenamed "Linda") comes into play. The spied slider claims a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, stereo speakers, shake control (for controlling the media player with a few well-executed flicks of the wrist), and a svelte 14mm shell. Give us North American 3, Sony Ericsson, and we're sold.

Ugly. SE's design language for these (w/ the lipped flip & plasticy look) is really a turn off- especially when compared to their futuristic, very well built phones of the past or even the upcoming X1.

See htc regarding x1 manufacturing.

I still don't understand whats happening with the w760 . It's essentially a w580 with upgrades. I thought it would more or replace the w580 when it came out, but no carriers (at&t) are taking any interest and it's just sitting around being better.
Instead of upgrading their phone line at&t just adds the same phone in new colors. So you get the same year old phone, but now it's RED! (which of coarse the newer w760 comes in anyway) Sorry at&t I'm not sold.

Is it just me or does every Sony Ericsson phone LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME

It's just you.

Is it just me or does every Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, LG look the same?
Anthony @ Jul 6th 2008 4:07PM
It's just you. You can't compare the Nokia portfolio w/ others. The N95/6, N81, their E series, their "classic" or 8XXX? Come on. They're the most diverse maker around. LG & Samsung are chasing the iPhone these days (Nokia will too sooner or later).

If the SE Paris didn't make it to production then I don't see any reason why this one should.

Holy Hell they fixed the keypad! Aside from the god awful camera, that was my only gripe with the 580: 9 of the 12 keys split right down the middle after a little more then a month of moderate texting and regular phone use.
And Anthony, Nokia's N82 is a direct ripoff of the SE W810. Put the two side by side, there's no doubt about it. And if you want to talk about ugly, maybe you should check out some of Nokia's clamshells while you're at it.

Contact Sony Ericsson about the key-splitting issue. This is a known problem with the first generation of these phones.
FWIW: I've had 3 of the W580i's and haven't had any key problems with them.

I hope has Led flash.

the w580i was pure junk. so cheap, and just not good. you don't know how many people flocked to that phone, and nearly ALL of them have changed phones. everyone I knew with it had their keys crack. One of my friends had their w580i fry their sim card then shut off and never turn back on. not to mention the other various problems. SE is getting cheap, they don't make em like the w810i anymore. :(
