Telus getting enV2 as "KEYBO" -- seriously?
We're hearing that Telus will be ushering in a whole new age of Texter's Thumb before too long with the launch of the curiously-named "KEYBO," a rebrand of the enV2 found on Verizon in the States. EV-DO data, a media player, and a 2 megapixel camera make this a solid choice for SMS maniacs who want something just a little sexier and fancier than the Rumour (itself a rebrand of Sprint's Rumor). We understand where the name comes from -- sort of -- but that doesn't mean it's right.

The "A," "R," and "D" were just too much.

Now I wonder what would have happened if Motorola gave the Q ("qwerty") its appropriate 4LTR name: "QWER"

Playoff of "Kimbo" ?

As an enV2 owner myself......KEYBO is quite possibly the absolute worst name for a ohone I have ever heard.

whats funny about this was telus was the first in north america to launch unlimited text messaging years ago. like 4 years or 5 years ago. and it included unlimited pics and vids. yet they are THE LAST to get a full qwertty device that is not a data device. go figure

They've had the LG Rumo(u)r for some time. Also, if you're including all NA carriers, neither T-Mobile nor AT&T currently have a QWERTY "dumbphone" (although AT&T has had at least one in the past, as Cingular, and I believe T-Mobile carried one ahead of its time as well).

Well if it counts T-mobile does have the Samsung Blast which is not qwerty but is using the BB suretype keyboard. Then there is also all the Sidekick versions. I won't call them dumbphones but they are not really smartphones either.
Wait they are now making the Vu in CDMA form?

telus does not have the lg rumour. bell has it. i honestly thought the other had one guess i was wrong
Riley Freeman @ Jul 1st 2008 5:17PM
the vu is the lg dare
and yea the sidekicks are full qwerty and also gsm u are not restricted to carrier offerings
Test Man @ Jul 1st 2008 6:28PM
The LG Dare is absolutely not the Vu. The LG Dare is a variant of the pre-iphone LG Prada phone. Vu and Dare are two completely different phones.
