HTC Touch Pro passes FCC in CDMA flavor

Among the many ducks that Sprint (and Verizon?) will need to get in a row in order to launch their own version of HTC's Touch Pro, FCC certification ranks pretty freakin' high on the list. No worries, though -- it's all good, because that just happened. An HTC device with model number "RAPH800" has now popped up in the filing system, featuring CDMA with EV-DO on the 850 and 1900MHz bands. Of course, certification is certainly no indication of when a product's actually going to launch, but if (heaven forbid) the glossy QWERTY WinMo slider gets delayed, at least we can call out anyone trying to slide the "we're waiting on FCC clearance" excuse past us.

Thanks guys, I need as much info as I can get on the Touch Pro to stay away from the "July 11th" phone when it comes out. :)

First the PhoneArena article and now this, could it be that Big Red will actually be getting a great phone before it becomes completely outdated? That would be too much to ask for.

HTC, where's our US HSDPA bands?!?! I don't understand why this isn't coming GSM first in the US.

It's geared for Sprint (HTC Diamond and Raph), which doesn't use GSM. You guys have the iPhone over at At&t, let us Sprint ppl have something useful!!! lol

Although, considering they're available in Europe, you'd think it would be easier to sell them to a third party in the USA for GSM users, unlocked of course.

Man o man! This is a sweet phone. For my tastes and desires its definately an iPhone killer. Heres hoping that (if it goes there) Verizon doesn't jack it all up.
