one of the major drawbacks with the keyboard as others have mentioned is the lack of START, OK keys which the xperia has.

another drawback is smaller LCD screen and lower resolution than xperia.

Release dates will prove a problem however as (in the UK) they could be released up to 4 months apart - the Pro at the end of August, and X1 as late as xmas pending software problems.
Functionality and usability will win out in the end though.
