Training materials from Verizon break down the nitty gritty on just what makes its new EV-DO Rev. A-based push-to-talk network better than the outgoing 1xRTT-based system, and apart from a totally unnecessary cameo by the "Can you hear me now?" guy, it's pretty enlightening. First, we learn that users will now be able to rock 500 individual contacts, 100 group contacts, and 50 contacts per group, up from 150, 50, and 20, respectively. As we've known, it'll also support presence, meaning callers will know whether you're available to annoy everyone around you before they hit the button. The slides on the two launch devices -- the
Motorola V750 Adventure and
Casio G'zOne Boulder -- don't reveal much new information, but we do see here that the black / silver version of the Boulder will be available with or without a camera for companies that like to clamp down on those sorts of things. See the rest after the break.

N.Rosario @ Jun 23rd 2008 4:29PM
idk but that is straight from a VZLearn training, I'm letting my AD know to see if he can catch the leaker
Peter F @ Jun 23rd 2008 4:34PM
Eh, still isn't universal across networks. Still FTL.

maybe it's because some reps get away with murder while another gets heavy-handed punishment for some small infraction.
that picture is a blatant violation of the terms of employment. I know the training course even states in the beginning that it is proprietary and confidental - not for disclosure or use outside of Verizon Wireless. While the information may be easy to come by thru "regular" means, that doesn't mean employees are free to post ACTUAL SCREEN SHOTS of training materials.
btw, VZWGuy, your name alone implies that you're an employee. If that's true, then your blasting of other employees for following the rules is a blatant violation of your employee agreement.
also, not all call center reps smoke.
also, not all call center reps are fat.
also, providing you are an employee, you're probably the same kind of asshat who tells customers who come in to the store to call customer service for help because all you're interested in is the $.
People like you make me sick. People like you are what is making this country go to hell because you're only interested in what you can get out of things, regardless of the consequences.
Now, I'll get off MY high horse - both as a long-term, high-value customer, and as an employee who knows better.

You're all making us look bad so just get over it, the information is not harming anyone, dont worry about it.

First of all, I already thought it was rediculous Verizon is barely getting Presence with this update. Welcome to 2004, Verizon.
Second, OMG VZW employees are pathetic! I'm LMAO right now. If you really wanted to so something about it, then go do it. Why waste your time posting about it here? But why even waste your time doing something about it? PTT is coming. We already knew that. These phones are the ones. We already knew that. WHO CARES? You guys should really be spending your time fixing someone's account right now or something.
I'm actually glad employees leak these things. Because whenever I call customer service for any wireless company, the reps never know what the fuck they're talking about! And as for the person who commented about the store thing (above), store reps never know what the fuck they're talking about either! So basically this turns into training for the consumers, which is a good thing. If someone ever actually wants VZW and Rev A PTT for some reason, and a rep tries to sell them the old GzOne or something stupid, people will know better.

woah woah woah
are you three idiots seriously saying you are letting a call center AD know to try and catch the leaker?
really....
REALLY?!?
I know call center reps have alot of free time, and you job consistences of hoping to get your next smoke break and screwing up customer's accounts until they get so pissed they storm into a store and scream at people for no reason, but if you really think your AD is going to get all high horse and start tracking some fat pathetic call center reap who works there because they could never hack it in face to face commissions based retail job at a corporate store...you got another thing coming.
go back to counting down to your smoke break and deal with it.

Wow, and here I thought that I was going to find out how useful these phones and VZW PTT EV-DO Rev A network are. Oh well, back to Sprint
