T-Mobile adds Nokia 6301 and Samsung t339 to HotSpot @Home stable
The 3G handset selection is still tres weak down on America's number four, but it's not all gloom and doom -- things are looking considerably brighter on the WiFi end of T-Mob's tech spectrum. The carrier has announced today that it is adding the Samsung t339 flip and Nokia's stainless steel 6301 candybar (unbranded version shown) in support of its HotSpot @Home UMA calling action, and while neither device comes as a surprise, the 6301 should end up generating at least a little buzz as the first candybar dumbphone on T-Mob to pony up the 802.11 sauce. Notably, it also features a QVGA display, reasonably decent 2 megapixel cam, and integrated FM radio -- all told, a far cry from the HotSpot @Home lineup's humble roots in the Nokia 6086 and Samsung t409. Both new models are available starting today.

The 6301 sure does.
I called about pricing today and received some crazy information.
From the website the 6301 is $79. The T339 is $49. I called into T-Mobile's 800 number to see what pricing was on a 1 year contract. Anyway, after about 10 minutes they lady quoted me $119 on the 6301 and $109 on the T339. When I explained that those prices were higher than the website she told me that because I am an existing customer (one month left on my contract) those were the best prices I could get.
Then I call my local T-Mobile store. He quotes me $50 w/ no rebates for the T339 and $130 w/ $50 rebate on the 6301.
Between the website, customer service, and a T-Mobile corp store I have three different prices for these phones. Unbelievable.

@ bjsguess, I see only 2 different prices, a 1 year and a 2 year
The first CC rep quoted you prices after rebates on a 2 yr, then the after rebates prices on a 1 yr. The in-store rep quoted you prices pre-rebate on a 2 yr. Pretty straight forward, it's always a $50 premium for a 1 yr contract with T-mobile.

bjsguess, just to chime on pricing on the t339, the guy at my local store gave me a similar quote: $159 - $50 "upgrade discount" - $50 MIR. I wasn't happy with the features over my current t509.
My main thing with this phone is talk time of 6 hours and the wi-fi feature. Never had a flip phone and not a fan of the color. Only thing I was impressed with was I was told the wi-fi upgrade for my 3-line family plan would be $9.99 for all three lines which is a damned good deal, if that was in fact true.

Got the T339 Today. Boy am I spoiled...
I upgraded from a Razr v3 silver.
T339 - Cannot Lock out t-zones. Some apps you can lock like tasks, and calendar.
V3 - Option to Lock Internet, AOL, and a number of other items.
T339 - None of the following are changable: external side buttons, Internal keys, soft keys.
V3 - Most buttons are changeable.
T339 - The side dedicated camera button gets in the way BIG TIME. I keep hitting it by mistake and turning the thing on. Very annoying.
V3 - Does not have this problem.
T339 - HAS WI-FI and so far works AWESOME!
V3 - Unfortunately, the V3 does not have this problem as it does not have wi-fi.
